Keeps trying to feed the baby!

I caught amelie putting a grape into romans hand today and of course he puts everything into his mouth
ive tried to say to her that hes too small for food, has no teeth, only drinks milk etc but she just doesnt get it. she thinks he wants it as he grabs it.

anyone any ideas as to how to discourage her?!

what I do is anything thats not a toy Ruby knows she has to take off the baby, it's "her" job to make sure that Jasmine doesn't have anything apart from soft toys..

she seems to take her job quite seriously poor baby is not allowed anything

If it was Madi, i would explain it really detailed. I would say something along the lines, of if he has ........ (list of food) he it will go down his tummy and make him feel poorly, then he might be sick everywhere, maybe over her toys and clothes

Aw bless her

My cousin (was 3 at that time) tried to BF his brother when he was newborn

My aunt found him with the baby on her bed with his breast out & the poor baby was screaming

Ruby tried to feed Scarlett a sippy cup of water and an apple

just told her her tummy is too small and she can only have milk. probably went in one ear and out the other, like most things i say these days!

Are you BF Roman? If so could you maybe express a bit into. Bottle and say to her that she can only feed baby mummy milk in a bottle as he can't eat food right now.
Obviously if you are formula feeding then the same but with different wording.
Noah used to try feed William and this helped him to stop xx

Connah is doing this too!

Weve told him he cant have certain things...small toys/some of the foods he has but Jack maybe cant have just yet and he seems to understand...i think!

Not sure how to prevent it though as when Jack was really little i needed eyes in the back of my head

xx

We just used to say over and over again - sally only drinks milk. Then we would play a game where we would ask ' does sally eat xyz?' and Helen would shout 'no sally only drinks milk!'

We taught her so well she struggled to cope when we started weaning. Now she keeps breaking bits off her food and giving it to sally - she knows not to give her grapes and blueberries but I do have to keep a close eye on her as she is desperate to feed sally and trying to explain that some foods are dangerous is harder than a blanket food ban.
