is this a crappy birthday present for a 2 year old?

DS's birthday is coming up & I am struggling to decide what to get him.

He is getting some garden toys from family & he'll get some indoor toys too, plus clothes etc etc.

We moved into our new house 2 months ago and his room at the moment is just plain. Magnolia walls, brown carpet & his white furniture. It just looks dull.

Would decorating his room and buying him some toys for his bedroom, bean bags, books, new shelves & ornaments etc etc be an acceptable present?

I was going to buy him garden toys but he's getting a few off family that I know of & I need to re-grass my garden before he can have loads of toys for the garden. Xx

No it will be fine, sometimes for xmas and birthdays I include practical presents because they get so many toys from everyone else.

Sounds like a fab idea to me!

Even better if he gets to choose items for his room.

Might do that with our LO!

sounds like a really nice gift much more practical than buying stuff for the sake of it and i'm sure he will love his new room

I wanted to do this last year for Earl but we couldn't afford it. This year he's getting a big bed and all the bedding etc (plus a few little bits) so I think it's a great idea.

That's what I though, practical & I'm sure he'll feel more comfortable in it if its 'customised' x
