If you start the CIO method the key is not to give up, otherwise you will have let your LO cry for no reason and she will come to realise that if she cries hard enough you will come.

Good luck

in the night - bath, bottle and story in her cot say goodnight and leave the room, making sure its dark thers no light seeping through blinds ect wen she cries leave her for 3 mins then go in dont pick her up lay her back down and leave the room then you go back in at 6mins do the same then 9mins do the same and so on go up in 3's but restart the stopwatch each time you come back out.and each night u increase it by a minute, dont stay in the room for longer than 30 seconds, its heartbreaking but believe me your going to think back if it works and go omg im glad we did this, it workd, u have your sleep and love life back.totaly up to u but if u try it stick to it.james vomited twice once one night and once another night (having a cough didnt help) but dont let that upset you or frighten you they sometimes do that, just dont make a scene because she will then think well if i make myself sick every1 fusses round me and i get to go in mummy and daddys bed.honestly if you try it stick to it, best of luck chick xxxx

I agree with loren the CIO method really works. You will think it will take weeks but about 3 nights will do it, when I say nights I mean an hour or so of crying at bedtime first night and then a happy child by the third.

My daughter has always been a good sleeper in a good routine but has had 5 operations so has been out of her routine for 2 weeks or more leading to some very upsetting nights as she was so tired. I'd usually leave it a week or so after we got home and then would use CIO to re establish her routine. Some people thought it was cruel but she couldn't recover from her operations without sleep and couldn't sleep with us as she had wounds that I was terrified of hurting.

She went into a single bed at Christmas and seems to have turned into a teenager who likes her lie ins at the moment!!! Xx
