library

I was reading another thread and people mentioned going to the library. I havent brought LO yet and I never really thought about taking her to get books. But now it sounds like a great idea. She loves books and we have so many. It would be nice to have new books, but not have to keep them, iykwim.

What are your thoughts on going to the library. Do you take LO?

It's great. We've taken Earl since we moved to where we live now. They even get their own library card here! lol

Earl at the moment loves the computers more than the books but he asks to go quite a lot (reminds me I think our books are over-due ) lol.

We've been going since he was born, the children's bit I found was great for BFing when in town as it was a lovely quiet area. He has his own card but I pick the books, he's only 12months so just grabs books and thinks it's a game to empty the shelves

Alice loves it. She enjoys checking the books in and out. We spend ages in there reading together. She chooses her own books, although she occasionally picks something too old/young for her, which I do tend to suggest she puts back.

We go to rhyme time at the library sometimes and afterwards we sit and read books. It has a nice area for children and its never too busy or crowded. We don't check books out though, there are too many already at home! So I didn't vote. x

We've taken Callum to get books ever since he was tiny, think its good to encourage it and he loves stories and has a good attention span with them which I think is good. We go of a friday as its a session they put on for moms and toddlers, its on for an hour and a half in the morning and is only 50p. They put on activities and toys for them, then they have a snack, then they do stories and singing. Callum loves it, we try and go every week xx

I think Isobel was about 4 or 5 months when I got her a library card. She's only 12 months now so I voted that I pick her books for her - she'd grab anything otherwise. But when she's a bit older, I'm guessing a few months, I'll let her choose her own.

Our library has a storytelling session but its on a day that I work. Apparently its 30 mins of story and singing and is free. Plus you get a stamp in your "passport" to save up for free books!

We've not been for a while as she got loads of books for her birthday.
