Definitely recommend white noise - there is a great video on youtube, its 12 hours of white noise with a minute fade in/out. This always worked for me.

Also, if you get them used to napping around the noise then hopefully they will sleep through more at night.
I had 3 of 3 and under too and I'll second the idea of getting them used to napping around the noise

I also used to babywear as it meant the baby was close and comforted but I had my hands free to deal with the toddler chaos

I always bounced teddy to sleep in his bouncy chair or fed him to sleep. Both of mine sleep through earthquakes though, so a bit easier than a sensitive baby.

I have a 16 month old and a 4 month old, and I put them down for naps at the same time.

Have to agree with Julietz - I had a daughter aged 18 months when I had my twins. They got used to noise in general but obviously a toddler poking them would have woken them up. I was quite firm with the older one - she knew quite early that when the twins were sleeping or trying to get to sleep that she was not allowed to annoy them. I think you need to set the rules straight away, perhaps find her something special which she only gets to play with when the baby is asleep?

Emily will nap in the day but generally not for long just half and hour here or there.

When she was about 8 weeks and started to not really sleep so well in her bouncy chair downstairs, I started putting her for naps in her crib upstairs. I would swaddle her, and her the white noise on and soothe her to sleep patting her in the cot.

I would stick something on the TV for Jack while I did this if this was a day he was not at nursery. It was hard and sometimes I had to spend over 30 minutes to and hour to get her to sleep and kept popping up and down to see Jack. But now in general I can put her in her sleeping back, sing a song pop her in her cot and she wines for a few minutes and go to sleep which is great (I just wish she would sleep longer lol)

Well yesterday Xander fell asleep whilst I was out so my mum. Who was watching them, put him in his moses in my room and he slept for an hour or so! I don't know why he picks and choses when to do this tho, would be brill if he done that all the time. Suppose I can only keep trying.

Thanks for all the tips and advice.

Xxx

I really struggle with this too. My toddler is so noisy and just wont let the baby sleep. She has to go down in our room or she just wouldn't get any sleep. She doesn't get enough sleep in the day and is usually very grumpy by bed time.

My toddler goes up to her when she's asleep, pulls her dummy up and screams as loud as she can WAKE UP BABY JASMINE

my poor baby is going to be a nervous wreck and my two yr old just doesn't get it

I'd try and get her to sleep where you can, then put her down and close all the doors x

Aw this is so similar without the talking! Aria will go and shake Xander to wake him and tries to grab him to play!

Scarlett only naps in the sling but it's def handy as she doesn't get disturbed there and can't be poked / prodded!
