Don't feel guilty hun. I know how you feel ds got diagnosed 2 weeks ago with lactose intolerance at almost 13months. The gp kept fobbing me off as a over protective worrying over nothing mum. He'd always had mucous poop's, sick, wheezy unexplained rashes and hives then it escalated and he become very unsettled when he quit breastfeeding and move to formula. He also had barely gained weight in 5months. Instinct took over 2 weeks before we finally saw a specialist and I took him off all dairy and put him on lactose free milk and he's a totally different baby and has gained almost 2lbs in a month

don't feel guilty, you tried and it is hard to feel convinced when you don't have support. luckily my husband supported me and we tackled LO's allergies at about 3 months I think. I just cut out all of the offensive foods and she was happy for the first time.

if i were you though i would keep advocating for mom's to follow their gut. i meet so many mothers whose children seem to have allergies and they just can't be convinced….nevermind that they aren't taking seriously, they won't even entertain it. that drives me crazy because the symptoms are all there and the child is suffering

Thanks, I think my DH was probably unconvinced after being fobbed off by doctors and his paediatrician for so long that we both thought it could have been anything but an allergy, no sleep for 14 months also leaves you tired and unable to function on a daily basis! Little man is doing great now, and all is good in the family household, we just feel lucky that he is well now and enjoying his sleep and food!

That is exactly the same as me hun. I have an appointment booked with the gp on monday and I am not leaving until she agrees to an allergy test. Its almost 14 months for us. It's something, I know it is! But I just don't know what. x
