Didn't bother with a support seat. Earl was in the big bath from about 2 months as the baby bath was just too small for him. We had a sponge support which he lay on, and then sat on until he was about 8 months. At this point he learnt to crawl so we got rid of the sponge thing.

Only got a bath mat after he slipped and fell in the bath and split his lip. Ended up in A&E as it needed glueing. I would DEFINITELY invest in the bath mat!
