phil and teds help please!

I need another double buggy. Been looking at the phil and teds a little as everyone seems to recommend them? Just wondering which one to go for?there's the classic, sport, explorer and vibe. Also can't seem to see much difference in each. If anyone coud give me a heads up I'd appriciate it.thanks

I had a phil & teds, can't remember what the model was but the back seat didn't recline so when they fell asleep, they just slumped forward and it was a pain in the arse trying to get them out of the seat.

I sold mine, apart from the back seat problems it had a rubbish basket for shopping ( had to buy the panniers which made it really wide when they were full ) and prone to punctures.

I think the newer models may have reclining seats? This is something I would definitely take into consideration before purchasing.

Vibe or verve. I love my vibe and it folds without having to take off the doubles seat.

The top seat reclines, although if you've got the double on the bottom, you're a bit limited as to how far you can go. Imogen can sleep perfectly well in it though with Teddy on the bottom. If the seat is on the top, you put the main seat flat and shove a coccoon in it for baby. The little seat on mine reclines a bit, but not masses. Teddy sleeps ok in it. my vibe is really old though, so they may have changed the second seat design. Most mothercare shops have them in if you want to go and play. The verve is the same, but a four wheel version.

This is good to know as we are considering getting a 2nd hand one for our 2 as we don't drive and we need more compact buggy as or current double is far too big for busses and stuff which makes things a nightmare!

I don't have one but a friend of mine has just sold hers as she found that it was really hard to tilt up to go over a kerb when both of her children were in it. She said the frame was flexing!

If it's any help i've just bought the new Phil and Teds Promenade. It's got 2 seperate seat units and they recline really easily. The chassis is lovely and light and so easy to put up and down and the basket underneath is big, although sure when the 2nd seat unit is on you may not be able to access as easily. I'm using as a single at the mo until lo is born so will have to wait to see how it performs as a double, but so far am really happy with it
