Toy kitchens

I really want to get my little boy a toy kitchen with food and stuff for his 2nd birthday. But all my friends and some family keep saying there too girly and he should be playing with cars and garages etc, which he does love. Whats your opinion on this? And can anyone recommend one which doesnt look girly, pink etc?xThanks

I think thats silly, all little boys love kitchens! Keira has the pink wooden one from elc and Connor plays with it just as much and we also have a large play kitchen in the garden which Connor tends to play with more then Keira. I think they do a lovely red wooden one in elc which would be great for a boy. If I had just boys I'd have still brought a kitchen as all kids love role play

i dont understand why they would be a "girly toy" arent there more male chefs than there are female anyway????
i say if you think he'll like it- go for it! the red wooden elc one is lovely, i think a pp suggested it.
i must admit im not one for girls toys and boys toys. from where im sitting now i can see lyssa's vanity table, her car transporter and cars, her farm, her pram and her monster megablocks. so a nice mix! x

Girly!? I don't know a little boy that hasn't had a toy kitchen at some point!
Lucas was supposed to get the Honeybake oven for Christmas but we couldn't get it - he's definitely getting it this year

He has the tea set too

So long as you think he'll enjoy it, don't mind everyone else! The Ikea one is very gender neutral

I really don't buy into to the idea that some toys/colours are only suitable for girls/boys so just ignore them!

My lo has a pink and purple slide, and a bright pink unicorn horsey thing, oh and a little purple dolly lol!

I have been looking at kichens recently too but I just think they all seem so overpriced for what they actually are?!

I did see a nice wooden one in IKEA so may get that one
