Moving to a new bedroom?

Hello my cherubs

I'll probably do a picture thread later as I'm darn proud of the new bedroom BUT... before then I have a question.

We've been working hard lately to get Fin's new "big boys" bedroom finished. We're eager to get him out of the nursery... not just so I canget it ready for Amelia... but also so he doesn't feel "PUSHED" out by baby.

Well the decorating is now finished and the furniture is complete (thanks to hubby who didn't make it to bed til 2am last night...) and those BLOODY awkward blinds are up etc. Just finishing touches now like putting furniture in place and adding bedding etc and his room will be finished.

So we're planning on nap time today will be his last sleep in the nursery before we move the cot into his big boys room tonight ready to start transitioning to his big boys bed.

For anyone that's done this - was even just moving the cot into a new bedroom a tough transition to make? Anything we can do to make it easier on him? We're planning a very active afternoon so he will hopefull be plenty tired come bedtime... and tonight is a bath night so he should be well in the "zone" when he goes down. We've got blackout blinds up so really when it's dark he shouldn't notice any difference right?

xx

When i moved Madi into her new room when we first moved here, i put her down for a nap in there, and when she woke up we read some stories on her bed. And we went back up there a while afterwards and took some toys, Jigsaws etc. And just played in there. xx

Its hard because Daniel was older when he moved - nearly 2 1/2 - but he just moved from the little room into the big room with no problems.
Hope it all goes well for you.

Tom moved from the little nursery to his bigger bedroom at 19 months and we had no problems. We showed him his bed moving and where it was going to and then he had chance to play in his new room for a while before bedtime - this really seemed to help.

His new room looks lovely! I'm sure he'll love it.

oh thats gorgeous

we just spent last week decotaring for Lana to move in to Leahs room with her

we got rid of everything and started afresh and Lana was involved from start to finish she was watching the painting, papering, carpeting, furniture building the lot. we just kept telling her it was her room and she would be sleeping in it

we moved her in on friday night and it went without a hitch, she was 27 months yesterday, only prob for us was she is still in cotbed as her new bed hasnt arrived yet

Hey hun,

We moved house and Aria fitted right in. She didnt seem unsettled in the slightest by it. I'm sure Fin will be fine.
