Can I use sun cream from last year?

It doesn't go off does it?

Just found a spray bottle from last summer, it's about half full.

Will it still be effective or do I need to bin it do you think?

Thanks

I did use some from last year when the weather was nice a couple of weeks ago. It worked just fine! I think they overdo the whole "use-by" date thing on products & don't pay attention to any of it. I probably wouldn't use something that had been open a few years - but just one summer to the next should be fine IMO

I wasn't sure of this but as I also had a half full bottle. I ended up binning mine and buying another one. I decided that Tommy's skin would be very delicate as he's so young so I'd better not take any risks. I'm sure it would have worked just fine though.

I'll be using last years - only bought it in September and has been kept in a box under my bed since it was last used!

the recommendations are to use new every year

i wouldnt use any kind of cream that had been opened a year, but suncream definately no. it can deteriorate over time and the conditions in which its kept has too many variables (heating etc). the cream could be compramised and less effective, for the sake of a few quid i wouldnt take the chance of sunburn

I think it would be somewhat less effective. I know that a few years ago I used suncream on myself that was a few years old and burned really badly so it had definitely gone off. Better to buy new I think. However, I used last year's suncream on Thomas during the recent nice weather as it was all I had. Better than nothing!

I always use the previous years suncream and have never had any burning problems. You just have to remember that they loose a factor a year so they aren't as effective as the previous year.

I use last years too! They are sooo bloody expensive, I think it's criminal that they charge so much for something which is protecting your skin & your childs!!! They should do it on prescription, esp for children!!!
