Rapid heartbeats

Y'all probably already know this! But sharing in case there's anyone else like me, who didn't.

I called the doctor's latenight line last night because my toddler had a pretty high fever and her heart was racing.

I'm not sure you can "hear" someone rolling his eyes over the phone, but if you can -- then that's what I heard!

He told me that heartbeats always get fast when a child has a fever. I had no idea! He told me to give her some medicine, and go get some rest. (Me -- not her. )

So just thought I'd share in case that ever alarms anyone else!

I found out the same information, but it took us a trip to a&e at midnight!

Dont ever feel silly whenever your LO is poorly, its always best to get advice if your unsure.

Hope she is feeling better soon xx

Yes I only found this out after getting totally stressed out by it when Thomas had a high temperature before!

That would've been me, too, if I hadn't called the doctor's nighttime line first! I was panicked when I felt that racing little heartbeat.

Yes, much better -- thanks! Why do they always spike the highest fevers at nighttime, just in time to make sure we stay up all night, worrying? :-) It never seems to happen at 10 AM! :-)

there's no such thing as a silly question when it comes to your LO's health hun!

but yeah, lyss has a hear condition and her heart works a little harder than normal- a temp is dramatic for us as 38 degrees has her heart at 250+ bpm!
