BF for comfort during night and no sleep!!

Hi all, well, my DD is 1yr and she has only ever slept through twice but I thought this would be at it's worst.... I was wrong!! She now BF for comfort during the night and wakes every hour to do this! I have tried replacing it with formula, cow's milk and just offering water and she blatantly refuses a dummny/pacifier but we just end up with screaming fits for hours and the whole house awake, including my 6 yr old Autistic son who then gets in to my bed! Any ideas, experience or advice how I can get her off the comfort feeding during the night as I'm sure if she knew she wasn't going to get any she would sleep better!!

I can't offer a quick solution, but I do know how you feel. At 1 year my son was just the same & I went along with it but I only have one child to see to so it wasn't a huge deal, I realise its more difficult for you! Once he got more active and started eating more at meal times he began to wake less during the night but still around 5-8 times. At 18months I started to explain that he could only have bm when the sun came up and started refusing feeds & offering only water each time he woke up also explaining it wasn't morning yet. It slowly sank in and he would wake 2-4 times between 20months and 2years but didn't need to bf back to sleep each time. I should mention that if he was teething or ill thats been a different story but i have been glad to be able to bf him through those times instead of being up in the middle of the night! He still wakes up 1-2 times at night.

I hope things get easier for you soon, maybe someone else has a quick fix solution
