Hmm. Interesting. Thank you!! Next cycle I will be definitely be using OPK because I have a good guess when I ovulated based on cramping/pains, but who knows... I could be way off!

My AF is due on the 25th (assuming normal 28 day cycle). I feel like this cycle is totally up in the air

I am so pleased I found this thread. I came off BC 2nd December and for the last two weeks have sworn I am pregnant, but all tests are negative! It must just be the withdrawal effects of coming off.

I'm so glad I've found some people in the same boat though! I am just waiting for AF to arrive now, so I can move on to the next cycle. I had a progesterone serum test done at the doctors on the 27th (CD22) and they have just confirmed that ovulation has not occurred, so I am a little confused. Will I still get a period?

Yea Johnsa!! So happy for you, H&H 9 months! What a great Christmas present for you.

wtbam-glad you found this. I was worried of the same thing, I didn't have any testing done, but from all the looking into that I did, it looks like your first full cycle off can be a bit longer than typical. I actually ended up buying OPKs to figure out my LH surge for ovulation as I was worried I'd be the person that went 2 months before the next cycle would start. Proud to report that I ovulated around day 13/14 of my cycle. I'm attributing vitamins to helping get regular quicker. If you look throughout the forum, you'll see several posts about vitamin B complex. Basically, the b vitamins help to regulate your cycle by promoting good hormonal balances and such. Can't hurt right? Make sure if you do it that you use the B complex and not just a B vitamin as there are several. It should be very easy to find the B complex at any drugstore. I actually started taking this prior to going off bcp, but it wasn't consistently. Since finding threads about it, I have been trying to make sure I get it in every day, prenatal in the morning, B complex in the evenings. Here's a bonus too, prenatals have b vitamins in them to help absorb the folic acid and vice versus on the b complex. You need one to help absorb the other. I believe it is most beneficial to your luteal phase, and moving O by a few days sooner if you have really long cycles. Were you at the end of your BCP when you came off at the beginning of Dec? Good luck to you and keep us posted.

Sorry for the rambling, just wanted to update everyone on what I've found!

Thank you!!! I was trying to find this thread to post an update for you guys, but I couldn't find it!

I am still in shock that we got pregnant the first month -- so crazy. Such a blessing!

So... you CAN get pregnant right away!! Even after 12 straight years!!

GL and Baby Dust to all!!!!

Thanks Twinkie. Just wish I could shake the worry off in my head!! And thanks for the heads up about the vitamins, I will look into it!

I have PCOS, although I have always had pretty much regular periods, so I am hoping that is a good sign!

Can we keep the thread going?

Hey girls,

I know you are all in your own testing threads keeping them up to date but could any of you give an update here? I like how we were all previously on BCPs and have a bit more in common because of that while TTC...How have you been feeling off of BCPs? What cycle of trying are you currently on? When are you all planning to test next? What kind of things are you doing to help you pin point ovulation or are you just going with the flow?

Thanks :-) FX'd for you all

Of course we can! Anyone welcome to come back or join in here!

ASM, I am on cycle 3, but cycle 1 was not the whole month off BCP, just most of it. I was on BCP for so long that I really had no idea what a natural period was like anymore. My first period ended up coming a few days early for me (CD 25) on the first cycle, I suspect this had something to do with starting the pill pack and not finishing. Cycle 2 was 31 days, had the last cycle been on time, I'd have been right at 28 days so that's what I'm using right now. Cycle 2 I used OPKs as I really had no idea what was going on when for sure. I got a positive OPK on CD 12 and suspect that I ovulated on CD14, but am not certain. I decided to start making notes daily on CP and CM now, in my third cycle. Hoping to better determine what day O is on and also, if I stay fairly regular, hoping a few months of dating will help me know my most fertile days and not have to do all the extra stuff and can just go with the flow of things.

In terms of my actual period off BCP, it's been good so far. When I was a teenager, prior to BCP, my periods were usually 6-7 days with medium bleeding for the first 3-4 days then spotting for another 2-3. The last two periods have been heaving flow on 1 and 2 days then spotting for 2 and then basically done, which I love having shorter periods. I used to get terrible cramping when I was younger and so far it hasn't been too bad. I do still get cramps, but they are manageable. I've also noticed that I'm more gassy/stomach rumbling feeling right before AF arrives, where I never really had this before.

Would love to hear how things are going for everyone else and if has already gotten their BFP. Good luck ladies!

Hi ladies. I stopped BCP in Nov and my two cycles have been 32 days and 41 days. I'm on cycle 3 and don't know what to expect. It's been helpful reading your stories, I guess it's very different for everybody. I'm temping and using opks to pinpoint ovulation, otherwise I'd have no idea with these irregular cycles about when to test or when I should expect AF.
