TTC #1 with irregular cycles.

Hey everyone. I married my best friend on July 17,2013 and we have been ttc ever since our wedding night almost 5 months ago..My cycles have been whacky ever since the first cycle ttc...In the past i have always had messed up cycles but they weren't back to back..i may have missed a period or two every once in a while...I started temping back in April and everything was okay and the cycles were normal...the cycle we start ttc it all went down the drain...anyone else ttc with irregular cycles? What's your game plan? Have you tried anything for the whacky cycles? Thanks for looking!

Hi there!

I have irregular cycles and have been actively TTC for about a month. I went off the pill in May, took prometrium to have a period in July, had a 35 day cycle, 59 day cycle, and a 41 day cycle. I am now on cycle #4 since going off the BC pill and this is my second cycle TTC.

I choose not to temp or do OPKs because my irregular cycles drive me crazy with wonder. I only track my cycle days and pay a little bit of attention to CM. I don't want to stress myself out emotionally and psychologically because I want to enjoy this time instead of getting stressed out. Some people can handle all of the charting and what not but my personality is so sensitive that I'd rather not. But, I still love reading everyone's stories and experiences and sharing my own.

I am currently taking Nature's Way vitex to help make my cycles regular (HOPEFULLY!) as well as a prenatal, flaxseed oil, and zinc. I've read a lot of good things about vitex and my acupuncturist recommended that I start taking it. So far, I am noticing more CM which is great!

Lots of to you! My Christmas wish is for a for myself and all of my TTC friends!

I have irregular cycles and awful, awful hormones! Right now I am CD 2/3.. Can't remember. But I do have a plan this cycle. I purchased Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor and will be using it. Also, I will do SMEP. I have been taking herbs for my cycle, such as: Vitex, Maca, and so on.. As well as those yummy prenatals

Do you take maca and vitex at the same time? I've heard some people say it's not a good idea but I've heard other people say it is. I was taking maca in October and part of November but I switched to vitex at the beginning of this cycle (2 weeks ago). I was afraid to take both of them because they have similar effects on the body.

Are you experiencing any improvement or any effects from using them together?

I don't see a problem in taking them together. So far Idk, because I started my AF the day I bought them and I won't be taking them until after it ends....

What is your plan?

My acupuncturist recommended taking two a day until AF comes. I'm actually following the directions on the actual bottle that says up to 3 daily. Once I start my AF, I was going to take it down to 2 a day unless that cycle was outrageously long. (before vitex, I've had 35, 59, and 41 day cycles...not horrible but not great either)

I don't know if I'm going to take the maca again or not. I'm definitely debating it!

Keep me updated and let me know how you feel when you are taking both!

Lots of to you!!!!!

I started taking fertilaid for women this cycle. My last cycle was 49days long. My DH has been taking fertilaid for men and it helped his count morphology and motility. I've heard great thing about fertilaid for women and how it helps regulate cycles. Check out fairhaven health....if u Google fertilaid it'll come up and connect u to the site.

Hey there! I've been TTC for 2 years with irregular cycles.. Lasting anywhere between 4-6 months. I tried everything, natural supplements, meditation, crystal healing, acupuncture. You name it, and I've tried it.

My game plan was to start take an HPT on CD 40, and then one every 2 weeks after.

It turned out I have a heart shaped uterus and PCOS so now the game plan is an HSG and Clomid. If you're having irregular cycles, you don't have to wait a year to see a specialist. They can treat the irregularities, they just won't treat you for fertility until after a year of TTC. You should go get PCOS ruled out before anything else. It will save you a lot of time down the road

Good luck!
