TTC Prenatals, vitamins and etc

Hey everyone

This thread is for discusding vitamins and there effect on our bodies.

Originally, i tried Naturemade prenatals with Dha, but it rebelled against my belly.

Recently, i tried Pregnacare conception. Well, after 3 days, i got smacked. Im talking about my body felt so weak and queasy. It was a feeling i get when i havent eaten in the morning. I still feel shaky.

Well, ive since been doing major research online. I know everything isnt good for everyone.

What works for you ladies?

Feel free to rave, grunt and scream over the products you have used.

I did not get on with any supplements , I took pregnacare and felt so sick, bloated it was horrible. I also took Angus cactus....to no effect whatsoever. ....when we finally conceived again all I had taken was folic acid, oh and my tablets for my auto immune disease as I was diagnosed a few months before I conceived.

I'm taking Daily Wellness Fertility Blend (not great about taking the 3 a day). I've heard mixed things about Folic acid/folate, hard to say what is the best answer! Really, the best thing to do is eat fresh healthy foods that contain folate and vitamin B12 when it comes to that vitamin but easier said than done!

I just started taking it again this past week, I tolerate it fine but I feel like it does change by bowel habits a bit, but nothing too drastic or that makes me uncomfortable. I know I have a hormone imbalance, so trying to see if this will help.

I'm taking Vitafol Ultra as prescribed by my RE. It took me a few days to get used to. But now I'm a month in and it seems okay. It costs me $18/month.

Here's what it says in terms of Folic Acid/Folate:

Folate (as Folic acid USP 0.4 mg and L-methylfolate Calcium 0.6 mg, as Metafolin® CAS# 151533-22-1) 1mg

Not sure if it's any better than the usual prenatal?

I take My Kind Organics once daily prenatal. I like it because it has folate and it's only one pill per day!

I take Rainbow Light Complete Prenatal System. It does suck that you have to take 6 a day, but it has lots of good stuff in it, whole foods, etc. 1000mcg folic acid in the daily dosage. No side effects and I started them about 2 weeks ago. Only thing is it turns my pee neon yellow lol!

What's the difference between folate and folic acid? And why is folic acid bad? Just asking, because I've never heard of this before and I know that ob/gyn's where I live still recommend folic acid!

Heyy just wanted to add that I have been taking pregnacare this month after TTC for 6 months... I'm anaemic and have quite a short LP but regular periods at 28 days.. this month I have had my longest cycle ever at 34 days.. obviously was full of false hope thinking I was pregnant and AF came yesterday, so gutted! However after reading online vitamin b6 can lengthen your LP which improves the chances of conception so I suppose it's a good thing... just wish they would warn you about possible delay of AF to avoid disappointment! Xx
