Why Now??

Alrighty ladies, it's story time! Since we're all TTC #1, what is your reason for trying now vs before? We all know there's no "perfect timing" for having a baby, but I'm just curious what made y'all decide that now is the right time!

For me:
I'm 28 years old and have been married since March 2016 - we knew we didn't want to have a baby the first year. I was also dealing with some serious Fibromyalgia symptoms and chronic fatigue. I've gotten help for those and am like 500% better than at this time last year! We also moved into a new house this summer, so we have more space. Our previous house had a fantastic spiral staircase going up to our loft bedroom, but there was NO WAY I was going to take a baby up and down those stairs! I know if I quit working we'll be a bit tight on cash, but I'll be able to continue part time after baby comes

Baby Dust to all - I'm curious to hear all the stories!

I'm 31 (just today!) and DH and I just got married in May. We've been together for 12 years, lived together for over 8 years, and decided we would try right after the wedding. We were super lucky and got a BFP in June (second cycle but only a month and a half after our wedding, but sadly we found out at our 8.5w ultrasound that we were miscarrying...obviously, really sad. So....long, terrible story short, I had positive OPKs last weekend about 3.5 weeks after my d&c and hubby and I were NTNP as we were away on a trip and just being relaxed. I was really, honestly taking the OPKs mostly to find out when I ovulated to know when to expect my period...a MC really messes up your cycle and it was so frustrating not to know ANYTHING (I am a control freak)...so, I ovulated, according to OPKs and got a temp spike and we weren't super careful. We'll see. Either way, AF returns and we try again or I get a BFP and cross my fingers!!

I've been stalking this forum from time to time, when things felt 'off', but have finally made an account this morning. I actually thought we may have gotten everything 'right' accidentally without trying last cycle, with horrid unusual symptoms, but AF showed up as scheduled. We will be 'officially' starting out TTC next week.

Very long story short:
DH and I are both on our second marriage, and were married Oct. 2015. We really hadn't been in a position to think about starting a family, and had kept putting it off. Last year, we decided after my knee surgery, we would start trying. However, my knee surgery led to a life-threatening Pulmonary Embolism, and emergency Open Heart Surgery. So, obviously, our trying got put on hold... We have been NTNP since I was released by my surgeon, but I was in school, so we decided to wait a few more months. We have gotten the official go ahead from my specialist, so here we go!

We're both 36 this year (I will be in a few more months), so we figure if we're gonna do it, we better get to it.

I've been with my DH for almost 13 years. We were both adamant that we didn't want any children in the beginning of our relationship. We married 3 years ago this month and after we got married we both just felt differently about it. He was still in school working on his Bachelors and wasn't planning on finishing until August this year, so we decided we were going to wait to start trying until he was finished, but our best couple friends welcomed a baby girl in April of this year after trying for 2 years. Seeing both of them be parents really set something off in his head and we started actively trying in May.

DH and I have been together for 8 years and married for 1 (October 8th!) and we've always known we wanted to start a family. He has nieces that he is wonderful with and I can't wait to see him be a dad.

Originally we were going to wait till October to start trying after our 1st wedding anniversary. But then we were laying in bed talking about plans for the future and babies, his hand on my tummy the entire time, when we decided why wait to start trying? I have af now so mid September will start cycle 2!

DH and I have been together for 10 years (and lived together for 9). He proposed to me Dec 2014. Originally we had planned our wedding for July 2016, but decided we didn't want to wait that long (who wants to plan a wedding for 1.5 years, ugh) so we got married July 2015 instead (on the day of our 8 year anniversary)!

In October 2015 I started a new permanent job and qualified for maternity leave benefits. In November 2015 I was 26 years old and DH had just turned 30, we had a miscommunication and accidentally ended up NTNP lol. I remember feeling SO hopeful and thought FOR SURE I was pregnant that first cycle. It wasn't meant to be, the following month we started ttc in earnest. Now here we are, just shy of 2 years later. We've spent almost the entirety of our married life ttc and I must say it does a number on your sex life (and not in a good way). If it doesn't work out for us eventually we will have to make the decision to stop trying. In many ways I look forward to that day so that I can move on with my life.

My husband and I have been together for five years and married for three. I'm 28 in December and he's 36. I work full time and have been working on my degree since February 2015. Initially we were going to wait until I finished my degree in December 2018, then probably a year or more when I got a new job. I decided I don't want to wait. Where I work now I have maternity leave and the ability to bring the baby with me to work. I really want that time so we started trying and I'm currently in the tww. I'm kind of going crazy with this not knowing thing so I can't wait for this bit to be over.
