I HATE opk's, ovulation, TTC BBT charting and everything else! LATE OVULATION DAYS?!?

I'm just getting so frustrated this month with it all . . .

I came off BC a few months ago, mid September, had a 53 day cycle, then AF came, I'm on cd 26 this time round and thought for sure I ovulated a couple of days ago (temp dip) well this morning I woke up and my temps had gone back down
argh!! I bet I don't ovulate this cycle!!

I'm so mad at myself for getting my own hopes up!

My Ovulation Chart

if anyone can look at it and give me any insight/ similar stories/ anything to put my mind at ease it would be greatly appreciated!!

also has anyone ever ovulated later than cd 26??

thanks ladies :/

hi I know ttc sometimes really sucks. I was so stressed the first two months of opks as I was convinced I was not ov but im just trying to relax more. I ov on cd 25 how many days from ov to af were you last cycle. I think the spike back up might be wrong were you feeling like you had a cold or something because on my chart I was low for about four days before going up. anything can cause the change in temp cm is more reliable than temp. I think you did ov or you would not get the drop. just weird how it rose then dropped again but think it could be down to anything. I fell asleep with one of my dogs on me, well he sneaks in if you dont shut door properly and because of that my temp that day was well high. can you think of anything that might have made it go high that day, like tested later than previous day, warmer night extra blanket, flu etc. I personally think your temp was meant to stay low that day just something made you warm so I would not worry. hope this helps x

well this is my first month of OPK's . . . I just want to make sure I'm actually ovulating again then I'm gonna chill out!! haha
last cycle I wasn't looking for OV days really, just took it day by day because it was my first real cycle off the BCP so I realllyyy have no idea this month! which is why it's so frustrating!! lol
thanks for that I just thought about it . . . and that day the DB was up for work at 7.15, which woke me up and I couldn't get back to sleep, I did just lye there for 45 minutes but I didn't move or anything, do you think this could be it??????
hmm that would make sense actually! lol it is a bit high for me . . .

hmm it's the second dip that worries me though :/ . . . apparently this is a sign of a anovulatory cycle, I hope it's not though!! gah!! lol

thanks for your reply xx

hi ameeann, it is possible to ovulate after day 25 (day 33 for my first cycle and 29 for this one) and i don't think that temperature fluctuations mean that you are having an anovulatory cycle (take a look at my charts - the temps are all over the place, but the trend for higher temp is still there).

As to why temps can fluctuate so much, I have no idea. Fertility Friend says that a lot of things can affect it, but I have concluded that it has nothing to do with what i did or ate or drank (except alcohol - big temp spike) nor how hot or cold it was in the room, nor how late I slept in. I think your body should adjust to these fluctuations in the temperature around you and keep your basal temperature relatively stable. Or unstable, as is my case

So, don't worry too much, you still might ovulate later, you might just need to get more OPKs

Also, I noticed that you had 2 positive OPKs at 2 different times. I am wondering you if are maybe misinterpreting slightly positive OPK for a truly positive one. I also recorded pos OPK 2x this month, but if I'm honest, the first one (D21) could have been darker and was likely not positive at all.

good luck to you!

thanks for replying . . . can I ask, is your name from the artist? Junko Mizuno?
I don't understand my temps tbh . . . all my life I have had a really low temp, like 35.80 . . . since I starting BBT charting (I started mid cycle as I didn't have a thermometer before then)
they have always been 36 and above (until the past two days) which made me think, at first, that I had ovulated before I started temping? I'm not too sure!

I've not run out of OPK's they've just got me so stressed out and obsessive, I've decided to give them a rest, I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not, but I really was starting to obsess over them! lol plus twice a day is an expensive habit

I hope I haven't missed my time this month . . . I hope I ovulate at some point! It's so frustrating!! hehe

how long are your cycles? and were you on the BCP before TTC too?

thanks hun

haha - no, I'm a runner and mizunos are my favourite running shoes (stupid, i know...) :P

I was on BCP for 17 years (yikes!) and got off them in June. After my first cycles off BCP (45 days) I was hopeful that my periods were getting more normal (3 cycles with 26-29 days). Then this cycle happened... I imagine I will have very irregular cycles, as that's why I went on BCP when I was 15.

OPKs are stressful, and this month after I realised that I didn't actually ovulate on day 21 I almost gave up on them, but then I continued a few days later. I felt like I already commited to OPKing this month so I just kept going

Try not to worry too much, your cycles may take a while to get back to normal after BCP.
