What's the SIS??

Well, luckily, its only been one real cycle of trying, so my husband isn't bitter yet, but he was definitely down-trodden. I had to explain how a 25% chance at best every month of unprotected sex seems like a lot to risk if you aren't ready to have a child, but as soon as you are, it is a dauntingly small percentage. I think we bd enough, it just wasn't our turn last cycle. I'm trying to get him to de-stress, which is kind of hard with his job, and as I think I mentioned before, I got him started on vitamins, which will hopefully help with his swimmers and blood pressure. I did opk's last month, and I plan to do them again this month, so if nothing else, I'll get a little more familiar with my off bcp cycle. Five years is a long time to take those. I'm doing my best to give us the best chance possible every month. Any of you have any advice on anything else I could try?

"The saline infusion sonogram (SIS), also call sonohysterography, is an ultrasound test done after a saline solution has been infused into the uterus. The saline solution distends the uterus and acts as a contrast to the internal structure. This procedure provides more detail than a conventional ultrasound." It's to make sure there aren't any blockages or abnormalites of the tubes & uterus.

Breiri Look at the first page of this thread. This month I did a bunch of things to result in my BFP.
Ginseng and royal jelly for OH and me.
omega-3 for me, grapefruit juice everyday, pomegranate after O. At LEAST 4-5 glasses of water a day! NO JUNK FOOD. OPK TEMP no caffeine or soda. Also I looked at sites to make my uterus more welcoming. I dont remember if it had to be more acidic or alkaline. Pretty sure alkaline so i ate LOTS of foods to change my PH in there. Hope this helps
p.s SMEP was also used and laying down after BD ing.

Are you staying laying down for a while after BD? I know they say that staying vertical for at least 15 minutes after really helps give the swimmers time to get in there. I'm also going to start trying Soft Cups this month to hold them close to the cervix for even longer. I know some of the other ladies should have even more ideas.

BD last night for us, but mostly just for fun since I was only 9 dpo. We tried a little Preseed last night; I liked it but the hubbie found it a little slippery. Next time I'll try using the applicator to get it a little farther in (last night I mostly just wanted it as lube so I didn't both with the applicator). Today is 10th dpo; we're taking tonight off and then starting up for real tomorrow. OPK was negative as expected still, but it should be positive in 4 or 5 days. I really hope this is a good month!

aah, I think that must be the same sort of thing as a HSG scan? hysteosalpinogram or something like that. I had that done. They injected dye into my tubes and watched it go through the tubes and into my uterus etc. to also check for blockages.

Maybe it is the same and just called something different in the US/UK?

Good luck anyway!

I do the lying down for a while after. I tried to do the grapefruit juice last cycle but I really hate the taste and eventually gave up because I could barely swallow it. What does ginseng do for fertility? To share a little too much, my husband and I have sex everyday. I mean everyday, we rarely skip a day unless he has duty and then its only because he spends the 24 hours at work. So maybe we need to take a night off a few days before ovulation for maximum swimmers? Has anyone here had a difference between sex everyday and sex every other day? I asked my doctor about it, and he said that only if my husband's sperm count is low will it make a difference, but he's a guy and never tried to conceive, so I would like you're guys' opinion on if it made a difference for you. I read about full fat dairy, but I'm vegetarian and don't consume dairy products.

I've heard the every other day is better for the sperm to "regenerate" so they are stronger. But every couple does it differently.

AFM, I'm home from my dad's surgery and POAS as soon as I walked in the door. I'm losing my mind. I'm kind of sad that I didn't get to temp the last couple days, so hopefully I didn't miss anything good!

I believe it is the same thing this is just done with saline instead of dye. They found a couple of uterine polyps which they will be removing with day surgery. I definitely have one tube that is open they weren't sure with the other one it was hard to tell with the saline and ultrasound.

CD 11 today and OPK negative, but I don't expect it until about Monday.

I keep swinging back and forth between being really hopeful that I'll get a BFP this month and really discouraged like it's going to take us another year to get lucky again and get another BFP. I need to findba way to relax more! I'm kind of hoping that time will help temper my feelings, but I know there's a good chance it will just make them worse. But as my husband keeps pointing out, we just have to keep trying and hope for the best!
