Alternative to Mothers Day - Raising Awareness about Infertility

Hello my lovelies, I am sure that the UK Mother's Day is just as tough on all of you struggling to ttc number 1 as it is for me. To try and raise awareness of all us in the exclusive gang nobody wants to be part of I have come up with a facebook status regarding Mother's Day. Please feel free to share this on your walls or alter it in any way you would like;

For all of you celebrating Mother's Day this year - Hold your children close and never forget just how blessed you are. Spare a thought for those not quite as lucky as you, for those that have loved and lost and those that are struggling to start their family. Infertility affects 1 in 8 couples and yet is still thought of as taboo - Please help to raise awareness by placing this as your status if you know somebody that is still trying to realise that dream of a family.

For those that aren't overly keen on the whole 'please place this as your status' there is also;

Happy Mothers' Day to all the mums out there - hold your children close and never forget just how blessed you are. Spare a thought for those not quite as lucky as you, for those that have loved and lost and those that are struggling to start their family. Infertility affects 1 in 8 couples and yet is still thought of as taboo - This post is for all those out there who are still trying to realise that dream

Just a little something to proclaim that just because we aren't yet blessed with children, we are here and we do still count!

Lots of love to you all xxx

As lovely a thought as it is, I can't bring myself to post things like that on fb. I posted a status about that stupid "I'm x weeks and craving whatever" meme that was going around months ago but that was more just along the lines of "spare a thought for those who may be trying/unable to have a child and you're all posting this like it's really funny".

Not many people know we are trying...I'm basically avoiding facebook today.

Awww to you both. Luckily for me I have just got really good feedback from friends and family.

I don't hate Mother's Day it just annoys me that a lot of the people that are gushing about how wonderful today is for them were threatening to strangle or complaining about their kids on facebook a few days before

For those that aren't brave enough to actually come out about ttc; if anyone is rude/nosey enough to ask about the post then tell them it is to support a very close friend/family member/forum friend and they will be none the wiser x
