OPK Questions??

Sorry if this is a stupid question but where do you get those OPKs that everyone talks about? How do they work? I think if this month isn't our month it might be time to try something new.

You can get bulk but cheapies off eBay. You start using then from about cd10. There is a positive result only when the test lame is as dark as, or darker than the control.

That's y some people use the clear blue, although expensive u get a smiley face to tell you Ur ovulating

I got a pack of 50 from amazon as they are pretty expensive in the shops if you aren't sure when you ovulate - the cheapest I saw in the shop was 7 for £7.99 and I got 50 for less than that. Are you in the UK?

Where are you from?? I'm from the uk and I buy mine in wilkinsons I get a box of 5 for £2.77 and start testing on cd11/12 at about 4.30 pm everyday until I get a dark line but I don't always get a line that's the same colour as the control line so I go by the darkest line I get and take that as the day I ovulate so It might be worth testing twice a day but not with fmu.

Good luck xxx

Hello readerwriter:
Are you American? If so, you can buy them at Target in the aisle with the feminine hygiene products. I like Clearblue because it gives me a digital readout during surge. Other "analog" methods can be difficult to read. I must warn you that they are expensive. About $16-$18 for one week of tests. I found some cheaper ones on earlypregnancytests.com. They are only about $1 per test, but they are somewhat difficult to read.

I get mine from ebay or the pharmacy or supermarket if i've run out (more expensive there!) and i've got long cycles so I don't start using them until cd14/cd15, usually gets positive around cd19!! xx

Thanks, this is really helpful. I'm from the US. Sounds like online might be the way to go at least for the first month. I have been charting my temps, but OPKs seem like they might be a little more useful. From my charts, it looks like I' might be ovulating around CD 17. What day do I start using OPKs then?
