plus size newbie just starting ttc

Hello girlies,

I'm new to the whole thing and new to ttc.
I am 22 and I'm just about to complete my apprenticeship as a mechanical engineer.
My bf and I have been together for 4 n 1/2 years now and are ready to start our own little family

.
I have literally just stopped taking the pill. I'm so excited and nervous at the same time.
I have read a few posts and I'm a bit worried because a lot of plus size girls are struggling to concieve.
I am about 224 lbs I was 271 lbs and have gone from a size 22 to an 18 but I'm worried that's not enough.
I am at a Slimming class called Slimming world and I intend on folloeibg it throughout the conception and if we are lucky enough to pg then I will continue through the pregnancy too as it has been medically proven it is safe enough for mum and baby.
I would really like to give future baba the best start in life.

If there is anybody in same or similar positions or they can give any advice please do.

Hey hun there are a lot of us in the same boat, look up "Any "plus-size", bigger gals TTC their first? " in the threads .. a lot of supportive women in there!

I weighed the same as you when I got pregnant. I went off the pill on July 21st had my first real cycle august 23 and conceived sep 6 or sep 9th.. Only know for sure because that month is the only time we had sex since we both got really sick. Just don't stress yourself out. I had ALOT of really clear mucus on the 6th thought heck why not I won't tell him i'll just initiate it tonite and there you have it... Good Luck

Hiya I'm Becca I'm 26 and so is my husband I'm 184 pounds and on our 3rd month ttc I've read that as long as you healthy and have regular cycles then being over weight shouldn't affect fertility but I have a friend who was trying for over 2 years and then lost 2 stone and got pregnant and now has a gorgeous baby boy so I'm going to try to lose weight too!! It can't hurt can it??

I'm about the same..last time I checked 210..gained so much during dating and married! CONGRATS on the huge weightloss!!! We started this month as well FX for BFP
