Buying things for yet unconceived child - crazy?

So, my question is who else out there, if anyone, has bought things for their yet unconceived child? Have you bought clothes, toys, little things?

I have been picking up a few things here and there...not like a crib or anything...just little things that I see. I justify it by saying that it will be nicer to get them a little at a time -or- that by the time I actually do conceive these things I really like may be gone.

Your responses will either confirm that I am crazy, or I'll be happy to know I'm not the only one.

I have 3 dresser draws filled with. Clothes that I've been getting the past 8 months of my ttc mostly used from the thrift store I can past clothes for less then a dollar I mean I probably won't be able to get them when I conceive cause there "old" so your not crazy at all unless we're both crazy haha

No not crazy at all,If I had money to buy anything spare at the end of the month I too would be stocking up.I mean its like buying a dress for yourself until you have somewhere to wear it to.Or buying something too small knowing that one day you would slim down enough to wear it.Its totally justifiable(spelling sorry lol)

Happy shopping!!

your not the only one hun
i have a special baby box and inside are all the things ive bought for my non concieved yet baby
Just clothes and toys and little things like that. Then when we do get pregnant i'l already have a few things. its better to be prepared, and like you say the things might not be there when you do concieve so its best to get them when you see them
to you

I buy little things or toys and I keep them all in a box. Typically I buy something when I really upset about a or about my miscarriage . I dont think its crazy .

My biggest fear is that I will have to give all these things away if I can never conceive. If someone told me that it WAS FOR SURE going to happen, I could be patient. I just always have that fear that it never will. I guess buying little things is part of my "thinking positive" mantra.

You're not the only one, we're only on our first month of ttc and we've bought bits already lol. Its the same as you say, I don't want to leave it and find they don't have it when it comes to it. Also it cheers me up when i'm feeling down to buy baby stuff. We have a few bodysuits, a blanket, a hat and a cot mobile because I thought they were cute lol

I don't think I could. I see things and think, "aww wouldn't that be cute?" But I am fearful if I buy stuff I would jinx it. Plus, I don't want to completely freak my husband out with clothes and toys for our unborn, not yet conceived child haha.

That's how I feel too!! And my husband said I'm not allowed to buy anything yet!! it doesn't stop me looking tho!!

We did nearly buy a mosses basket last week cos it was going cheap by put we didn't have the money at the time so we said we'd have it in a couple of months if it's not sold and hopefully then I'll be pregnant too!!!
