What CD do you take Clomid?

My GYN talked to me last week at my annual visit about possibly starting Clomid. For those of you who take Clomid, what CDs do you take it? I had lab work done and the doctor called me Thursday to let me know the results were normal. She was out of the office Friday, so I will be calling later today (Monday) to discuss the results with her. I am on CD6 today and am wondering if that would be too late in the cycle to start it.

I'm also wondering if you ladies would share any side effects you experience with taking it. I have IBS and have trouble taking a lot of medications. I don't have a bathroom readily available at work and don't really have the time to go anyways, lol. Just wondering if it will bother my stomach to take it.

this is my first cycle taking it, and ive been told to take it CD2-6. but i guess it depends on how long your cycles are, because obv you would need to ovulate about 14 days before AF. i think for me, it was just generic, because i dont ovulate currently, so im just taking provera atm to have a CD to actually be able to take it on!

good luck!

I had a quick google and apparently it doesn't make a difference if you start it on CD1 right through to starting on CD5. Maybe give your doc a phone and ask.

My doc told me to take mine cd3-7 so be sure to ask your doc before starting it on your own. I have read on other threads that if you take it on cd3-7 it's to help produce healthier eggs and if you take it cd5-9 it's to produce more follicles....I can't remember exactly what I had read, I am sure the ladies on here can correct me if I'm wrong

As for side effects, I had none on 50mg. The only thing I did get was it dried up my cm so I used Preeseed, and I felt the day I ovulated because I was in so much discomfort.

I don't know about what effect on the follicles/eggs the different cycle days make. I took mine CD2-6 :-/ The aim with me is to get me producing follicles and ovulating since my first ultrasound investigation showed that I didn't ovulate regularly. It's definitely got my follicles developing, just need to wait til 9th April to get my day 21 progesterone blood test to check if I ovulated.

I had the worst day yesterday, felt so sick and had a headache that kept going away then coming back. Not fun.

I am calling my doctor tomorrow to see what she wants to do. I will be CD7 when I call her so is that too late to start?
