OPK Confusion

This is the second cycle that I have charted, but last month I was unable to confirm the day of ovulation. So, this month I am trying the OPK. I started testing on day 12 and have gotten negative test results. My CM and cervix let me know that I was approaching ovulation, until the day that I tested positive on the OPK (which was day 18); then all my symptoms told me that I was passed ovulation. Has anyone else had OPK results that conflict with your body symptoms? Also, the day the that I got a positive result, the stick showed positive then 5 minutes later I looked again and it seemed to read negative. Is this a positive result and the lines just fade after a while or should I wait longer to interpret? Sorry if I'm being confusing, I just don't understand!

Always read it within the time limit stated in the instructions. Some OPKs read positive during the time limit and then fade as they dry.

It's poss. You missed your ovulation ....I've used opks the last 2 months and it gave me a positive on day 13, but this month I got a positive on day 11, I always start testing on day 8 around 4 pm and only use the digital ones. I love the digital ones I have always gotten a positive. You could have missed it I know the digital ones are expensive but I only have used 13 out of a box of 20 sticks so I still have more for next month so $35 for 3-4 months if you have a short cycle isn't bad and better then guessing.

I think I will try the digital ones. My periods are so unpredictable, and the OPK seems it would help pinpoint ovulation (as I haven't ever been able to confirm ovulation). I've had my left fallopian tube removed and my doctor said the right one looked as if it wasn't working right, so I'm hoping that doesn't mean I'm unable to get pregnant. Do you know if its possible that I won't be able to detect ovulation if I'm infertile?

Have you thought about temping? It's the only truly accurate way to know if you've ovulated or not.

Yeah, I started temping this cycle. I take my temp every morning before I get out of bed and I just haven't gotten the high temp to confirm that I ovulated.

Oh, don't be sorry. I need all the advice I can get, lol! I actually am using fertility friend. It showed me predicted ovulation days, but I didn't find any changes like elevated temp or any change in my CM. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

If you have a link to your chart, I can take a peek at it!
