Maybe because I know that when I actually do get pregnant me and my husband will be completely ready!

Is the fertility candle ur new plan?

I understand what you mean with picking things out! I have already decided the color of the room and picked out a crib with my husband. Have u started. Looking into birthing methods yet? I just got done reading "natural childbirth the Bradley way." I feel so much more educated on labor now that I'm really looking forward to that moment when my baby has its birth day!

I just started reading the art of breastfeeding by the la leche league it's been so enjoyable.

But I'm getting so antsy for next month to start! We took a break this month so we didn't have a Christmas baby. It was so hard to try and not sabotage the plan when I thought I was ovulating

No the candles are just something I bought from some herbal place that said it promoted fertility and I figured I had nothing else to lose know what I mean .

Yes I decided I want to give birth at a birthing center! The one I picked out is in a hospital but is not set up or run like a typical hospital delivery room it is more relaxed and laid back. Unfortunately there are not many birthing centers in my area so I don't have many to choose from. I wouldn't be able to home delivery because my doctors already said with my history it will be a high risk pregnancy. I plan on breastfeeding til at least 8 months but would love to make it through to a year. I am very anxious to start this new cycle. I have literally everything planned out; where and what kind of delivery I want, how the nursery will be decorated and what crib I want, and names have been picked out forever now. I am just praying and hoping that this is our month!!

I'm assuming based on the birth center your planning a natural birth! So am I but we don't have any birth centers so I will be going to he hospital. I like the idea of a home birth but being my first I think I will just be more comfortable in a hospital, in case.

Have you picked a labor method? I'll be using the Bradley method but visualizing more with it. Have you read about the Bradley method? Their book, Natural Childbirth the Bradley method, is very informative!

I haven't really heard of it. I do know that I just want it to be calm and quiet. I picture the room dimly lit with some relaxing music playing for most of the labor. I am completely not under the impression that labor will be painless but I think that it would be alot better if it was less chaotic. I absolutely refuse to be induced unless medically needed for the baby. I was born almost a month over due and I think that some babies just need alittle longer . I would like to try and go no pain meds and I want the baby immediately put on my chest unless there is something wrong. I really think that is a great bonding moment that cant be given back.

It sounds like the Bradley method might just be what your looking for! They have a 12 week class, but there aren't any instructors in our area. thankfully I have been able to find their books online for purchase! Through the Bradley method women have had "painless" births with no medicine. Based on reading the book I will be going very natural, no fetal monitor, no IV, no epeseotimy, no tongs, and no induction. Only way my view on anything would change is if my baby is dying and something has to be done. I understand and accept that pregnancy can be very uncomfortable but I feel better educated on the subject to prepare when we finally get pregnant so that I can enjoy the experience for what it is, instead of fearing it.

I'm planning to have the room dimmed. I have a zen DVD that is very relaxing that I hope to have playing. I'm also hoping to get fake candles. It might be Glade. They make these square paper candles with a scent. There is no actual flame though.

But I learned through the Bradley method book that placing the baby on your chest right after birth is a crucial moment for the baby and mother. Your contact and hopefully soon nursing is what begins your uterises contractions and your bodies natural release of the placenta. Also that is when you have the best chance of bonding with the baby and falling in love.

I hope we both get pregnant soon!

I am kind of back and forth on the the external fetal monitor for atleast part of my labor. I want to be free to move around but I am terrified of something going wrong and not finding out in time. I guess no matter how educated I become I will still have some fear. The pain is honestly the least of my worries. I know that the pain will eventually be over I am scared for my future child.

The thing with the fetal monitor is that it bounces some sort of technology off the baby to determine the babies pulse. The first reason it's fround upon with the Bradley method is that there is no research on it being safe or not for the baby. I guess back in the day when he exray came out pregnant women were X-rayed frequently and it took a while to find out it was dangerous.

There second reason was that with the new fetal monitor drs have beenk own to jump on the cesarean method after saying something major is wrong with the baby because of the way the heart sounds. So they order an emergency Caesarian and the parents learn everything's fine.

When I go into labor I will have no problem with them checking on the baby with a stethoscope. I just don't want them to push a Caesarian on me when it's not really an emergency.

My doctor is a family practice doctor so I tink I'll have more of an understanding doctor that doesn't have the urge to make an extra 750 for turning my labor into major surgery.
