My iv is cd14-cd16 but I'm going to use opk's. To make sure! Sorry to hear about the chemical that's the problem with testing early. I say every month that I wont until I'm late but always cave at about 10dpo this month I'm determined to wait! Do you take any vitamins or anything? I used conceive plus last cycle and I'm taking folic acid don't know whether to try something new!

Sami: DH and I just BD every other day throughout most of the cycle. Everything that I've read says it take a man 36 hours to rebuild his sperm count after BD, so if you BD more often than that you're actually getting reduced quality and quantity of sperm with each BD. It's up to you how you want to try though!! I take a multi-vitamin called "Materna" it's a pre-natal vitamin that is recommended to take while pregnant and then after birth while breast feeding. It has the suggested amount of folic acid in it, so I don't need to take two pills which is awesome.

Welcome Pomeranian! Lots of luck to you this cycle.

I'm on CD5 today and AF is done now. Last cycle DH and I BDed every other day on ODD days, which worked out awesome since I OV on CD16 last cycle. The question remains do we continue to keep the ODD day schedule assuming OV with be CD16 again and start again on CD7, or do we switch to EVEN days and start on CD8?

Well I've been taking folic acid, but I'm going to try pregnacare conception this month hope it helps! That's also the problem if I stop doing it everyday around ovulation and bd'd every other day will it matter if you don't bd on ovulation? Ohh it drives me crazy! Didn't think it would be this hard when I started.

Hello!

Hi everyone I am new on here! I am 25, live in London, been married for about 18 months and hubby and I have started ttc. I took my last Microgynon pill in January 2012, had my usual withdrawl bleed. Then my cycle was 42 days and I got my first 'natural' AF. Today is day 42 again and for the past couple of days I have had fairly bad cramps and today when I wiped there was this brown stringy discharge (too much info!). I think it is my AF coming as I think my cycle has reset itself to 42 days since I came off the pill. I took a test last week as I thought I would have gone onto a normal cycle again, and hence was late, but I got a big NO!

I have resigned to the fact the first two cycles have not been successful but have been googling symptoms so much everyday that I think its great you guys have this going here!! These cramps cant be anything else surely! Will keep you guys posted!

By the way I am taking Pregnacare Conception and regular folic acid tablets (alternating the two as pregnacare is expensive!!)

Hey

Hey my name is Danae I'm 30 and from Nebraska. We are trying for #1 and are on month #9. We didnt try this past month cause we would have had a Christmas baby. Our family lives in Illinois so it would have been too upsetting having everyone so far away at the holidays.

We use preseed, I have two flinstone vitamins a day they have plenty of folic acid, I checked, plus this way I remember to take them since they aren't gross. I have been temping for two cycles I'm on day 19 right now. My cycles are 28 days. Last month I used a digital opk and I'm fairly sure based on its results and my temping that I usually ovulate on day 12.

(I'm starting to wonder if my husband has low sperm count since it is taking so long ) we havent tested anything except my thyroid so far. We will probably get testing done after its been a year.

I'm so tired of waiting I am so looking forward to pregnancy, the labor and finally having a baby!

Babydust for everyone!

Oh people getting severe symptoms getting off birth control, give it time since getting off birth control. During my past 9 months especially the first 5 I had so many symptoms I really thought I was pregnant every month, it was horrible. My husband would dread the day I'd get my AF because I'd be inconsolable. Ive found it's best not to get my hopes up(I try really hard) I still get symptoms every month and they almost always seem different so I am at the point that when my boobs start aching, etc I just think I guess my periods coming.

I really hope you guys have better luck than me!

Sorry my AF is 7 days away I'm already getting emotional.

Samii... it wont matter if you don't BD on OV day. Sperm can live between 3-5 days, so as long as you've BD'd the day before you should certainly be fine. The only reason it would matter about BDing on OV or sooner is if you wanted to try and choose a gender.

It's certainly not an exact science, but there have been lots of studies done that show that female sperm live longer but move slower, and male sperm live shorter but swim faster. Ergo, if you wanted a girl you should BD several days before OV and then not again that cycle. Any boy sperm will die before the egg arrives, and the slower moving and longer living female sperm have enough time to make it to the egg, and if you wanted a boy you should only BD the day before or day of OV and then not again because the male sperm will make it to the egg before the female sperm do because they swim faster.

And that concludes today's biology lesson.
