TTC over 35

Hi
I'm ttc my first child, I'm 36 (37 this year), partner is 42 this year. I'm in relatively good health don't smoke, drink socially but not excessively. Eat healthily regulary keep fit. I'm worried it's getting to late for me we've only just started trying hoping I'm pregnant now did everything right last month but two negative tests. I came off the pill last July and cycles pretty much regular now, ovulation seems to be ok.

Has anyone around this age had success or problems conceiving, know these things take time waiting is to hard!!

Im 39 and I am in the midst of getting testing done. I think because of my hormone levels it will be hard to conceive. My next step is to go to a fertility specialist and see what they think of all the testing I have had and what they recommend.

If I were you I would have a preconception appointment with an OB/Gyn doc.

Good luck!!!!

We did go see a fertility specialist, which helped alot -- also, as we were pre-IVF, my GP did loads of blood tests, e.g. thyroid, iron, etc., which showed that I had PCOS and an underactive thyroid, for which I now take medication. Incidentially, once everything was 'in balance', plus a few months of acupuncture, I got pregnant naturally.

It's NOT too late -- I got pregnant at age 43 and will deliver in a few weeks (high BP only developed in the last week or so) at age 44!

best wishes

That's awesome that you got pregnant.
Because my Estradiol is 94 (high!!!) it's making my FSH look normal so that is BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am looking into paying for IVF because I just kind of assume that's what they are going to suggest with my age and my hormone levels.
No other problems though except a possible blocked right tube but the left is open for business!!!

Good luck with C-section!

Have any of you tried Pregnacare conception? I am just starting to take it as I have read it has helped lots of women get pregnant who had been advised to have fertility treatment. They ended up not needing the treatment & getting pregnant naturally.
