Hi everyone, I'm Steph and I'm 24! My husband and I have decided to start planning for a family. I've slowly come off all my medications (I was taking tetracycline for acne) and 3 days ago I finally came off the pill, Cerazette.
I've been on Cerazette for about a year. So when I stopped taking it I wanted to wait before getting pregnant, maybe a month or so, some could have a natural period and get into a cycle.
However, last night the condom broke!!!!
Is it likely I would get pregnant from that? I googled it and read some horror stories about Cerazette and women trying to get pregnant and it taking ages. I just wondered if anyone had any experience? How long did it take you to get pregnant after Cerazette?
Im a healthy weight and lead an active lifestyle, not overweight or anything. It's only been three day of being off Cerazette, what do you think?
I'm an ex-cerazetter even though it was for 3months. I stopped because I was putting on loads of weight plus other not so nice side effects. I stopped May 2011 and here I am still ttc. My periods also became completely messed up but slowly coming back to normal thanks to Agnus Castus.
This in no way means it'll be the same for you. some people come off the pill and gotten preggers immediately. some even whilst on the pill so anything can happen.
Hi, I was on Cerazette and came off it Christmas 2011. I continued to have periods whilst on it but they were strange and irregular. My periods became regular straightaway and my cycles went from 24 days to 26 days and are now 30 days. I haven't conceived yet though I have heard it can take up to a year after coming off the pill. Plus I had a lot of pregnancy symptoms when I came off it at first, which I have read is quite common. I have read a lot about women struggling to get pregnant after cerazette but I have read about some who got pregnant right away.
hiya ive been TTC for 17months now after coming off cerazette, nothing happened yet and had some tests turns out im not ov'ing. im inclined to think its due to my pill as it made my periods irregular and short, now theyre long and obviously im not ov'ing. Doctor hinted at this too, BUTTTTT my mum who was on cerazette got pregnant last year with my littlest sister (weird i know) in 5 months. everyones different hun, have fun and good luck
p.s. may or may not be preggers due to broken condom but id say smaller chance
I have just read your post and it looks as though we are both in the same boat in more way than one. Am currently 24 years old in good and weight and TTC.
I have been on cerazette since October and stopped taking it Saturday 16th June. I too have heard many horror stories about TTC after cerazett.
It would be really nice if we could keep in touch with each others progress to compare stages and symptoms. So far I have had little of the side effects mentioned; I can only say I have notice slight twinges and a small amount of brown blood discharge (sorry if that’s too much info). I have heard that implantation bleed can sometime look like this, I very much doubt so soon though. I think its my body trying to get back to normal. As I haven’t had a period since staring cerazett, thought it was brilliant at the time I sure don’t now.
I would really like a spring/summer baby hence why we are TTC as soon as. I have heard than on average your periods should be back to normal within 3 months of stopping cerazett.
I hopefully won’t find out as I would really like to be pregnant this time next/two months time but I know only to be patient and it will happen when it happens.
Anyway would love to be kept up-to-date with your progress Steph and any symptoms.
r u now having regular periods. How long did it take until u had ur first period.
My periods are pretty regular now, yes. They can vary by a couple days but then I was always like that anyway. My first period came exactly a month after I stopped Cerazette, and I didn't get any withdrawal bleeds or anything.
