Hi All....

This is my second month of charting. My temperature dipped below the cover line at 3DPO.

Is this normal?

One unusual temp is nothing to worry about. It can be affected by all sorts of things, like how you slept, what time you took it. You need to look at the overall picture of temps before and after ov, not individual ones.

Good luck

I think to be honest FF cant be sure that you ovulated on day 14 and is only going by the positive OPK you have put in. I guess because you have quite a few irregular temps. I mean the clear dots where you temped on CD 9, 10, 11 and CD 15 and 16.... I dont know if its due to you not temping at the same time every day but that can certainly give you erratic readings.

I guess just try to keep temping at the same times and hopefully FF will put in a cross hair again and obviously I hope you get a BFP!

I agree. I think the irregular temps make it very difficult to tell what is going on. At this point, it looks like you haven't o'ed this cycle. However, with those irregular temps, that can't be said for sure. Let's hope your + opk was right!

Why are the temps irregular? Did you take them at different times or was there another reason?

To quote Fertility Friend on it..

Quote:
My temperature has dipped below the coverline during the luteal phase. Does this mean I didn't really ovulate? Could I still be pregnant?

The coverline carries no physiological meaning. It is just a visual tool to help you see your ovulation pattern. Whether or not your temperature rises or falls below this line does not necessarily indicate anything significant. Individual temperatures can fluctuate at any time of the cycle, for both hormonal or non-hormonal reasons. A single dropped temperature usually doesn't mean much. You want to look at "the big picture" and see a pattern of temperatures over time. As long as you can see a biphasic pattern and a trend towards elevated temperatures after ovulation, there is no need to worry about a single dropped temperature or two.

If, however, you have so many lower temperatures that you can no longer see a biphasic pattern on your chart, (and you are taking your temperature accurately) this could mean that you did not yet ovulate and should consider yourself potentially fertile so you don't miss an opportunity to conceive.
Dont worry hun!!

Some of my temps are off cause I did not get up around the same time. Mostly due to getting up at night around 3 or 4 AM. I did do the OPK override on this one. Maybe I should wait for FF to display cross hairs.

PS : I do have all the post ovulation symptoms I usually have every cycle. But I guess nothing is for sure....

If you are not taking your temp at the same time everyday, they can't really be held as gospel. I would go by your pos opks and your normal ovulation signs!
