History of Twins in Family?

My MIL told us recently that my DH's grandad was a twin!

Apparently it's meant to skip a generation too, anyone else who might be getting it over and done with in 1 pregnancy?!!!! I hope we do, twice the work at first but only 1 pregnancy needed I keep thinking as want 2 kids!!!

Yeah my dad is a twin and my gran told me it had skipped a generation for a many generations back!

twins run on both sides of my family and yes it is known to skip a generation - it would be great if I am the next to have twins

I think it only skips a generation if they were non-identical though as identical twins are pretty much a chance type thing. My grandad was a non-identical twin and his aunt had 3 sets of non-identical twins! We'll see what happens though, I don't really mind either way. I'm more worried about having one baby first pregnancy then trying for another and ending up with three children as your second pregnancy is twins!! Or even worse deciding to have a third and doubling your family in one go!

My mum is a twin and my husband has twin sisters. I am doomed!

Twins run in my family. My Granny was a twin and my mum had 2 sets ( my 2 brothers and me and my brother.) So i guess it skips a generation with us which is a shame as I would love twins.

We are still awaiting twins in our family. My mums father was a twin and his mother had another 2 sets of twins also. My Mothers mum lost a set of twins by falling off a bike. My 1st cousins wife was having twins but sadly one died in the womb. So a gypsy lady told me that i was going to have twins! But here i am pregnant again and only one wee baba, it is quite a relief actually!! xxx

DH's mother is an identical twin, and his auntie (his mums twin) has twins. My dad has brothers who are twins, and my auntie and uncle are twins on mums side lol x

Sounds like I don't have half the chances of having twins as some of you lot!!! thought I should be worried! I agree on the having one and then trying for another and getting twins Monkeyfeet! that wouldn't be good but any at the moment will be a blessing! I think I'd take triplets at this rate!!!

theres LOTS of twins in my family dad's side, and its skipped a generation so it's all down to me to have twins now
