Is food tasting off a possible symptom?

For the last 2 days I have been experiencing a weird taste in my mouth and whenever i eat something it tastes off? The last thing i ate was a chocolate twix bar this morning and it tasted off so i asked my sister to try and and she said it tastes fine. I've tried washing my mouth out and spreading toothpaste over my tounge. The weird taste wont go and its putting me off food. I've also tried mints they dont do anything. xx

Not sure about food tasting off, but the NHS early pregnancy symptoms include a metallic taste in the mouth.

Good Luck

I thought tea tasted funny.....

One of my books does say that you might notice that some food you normally like tastes weird etc so it could be that... or they could have just changed the twix recipe a bit - lol

DEFINITELY is!!! I taste things COMPLETELY different than what I remember them to be prior to pregnancy... i CRAVED Pearl hotdogs (fenway park, Boston, tradition) then once I tasted it, I was so disgusted I through them out!!! The other night I made a tuna sandwich, which I normally LOVE, I couldn't even swallow it- it tasted so gross and fishy I wanted to DIE. I used to love apple juice, now it tastes rotten to me!! hahaha... i know it sounds crazy but your taste buds change!! And sometimes you just taste a weird funky saliva in your mouth, i know i produce gallons of that a day- seems like im drinking it rather than swallowing!! but its different than my norm!
