Multiple miscarriages

Hi All,

I have had miscarriage in 2008 (naturally conceived - pregnancy went only up to 6 weeks)
failed IUI 2010
failed IVF 2010
Naturally conceived again on clomid(Iím very irregular without clomid) - 2011 and miscarried very early (2 weeks)

todate none of the doctors can tell me why i'm miscarrying. I did the chromosomal testing and it came back normal. confirmed my blood isnt think so no clotting. my thyroxin is 6 and it's a bit high. i was told the normal value is 2

finally they have decided that it could be my immune system attacking the baby. so I'm going to go a frozen embryo transfer with steroids to supress the immune system

Has anyone had a similar experience and had any success on the steroids?

Many thanks..

sometimes there isnt a reason hun. im in the exact same position. 4 losses with no explanation. mine were all at different stages between 6 to 21 weeks. yet again they suspect its to do with my immune system but theres no solid proof for that. i was given steriods but my body reacted very badly to them. one lady on here i was chatting to though had been in a similar postion and she had great success with it. so stay positive

Do you have any problems with certain tpes of food causing you to suffer pain in our abdomen? In particular things like bread, pasta, cakes....

If you do it's worth asking or a coeliac test. Multiple miscarriages can be a devasting consequence of having it.

Sorry if I am wide off the mark just another avenue to possibly try.

So sorry for your losses xxkxx

Thanks everyone for your kind comments )

I'm not allergic to any food and normally in good health.

I'm also thinking of asking the hospital to do the natural killer cells test on me to see if it's too high.

Hi Babydust

Please read this thread, lots of success with steroids

The steroid junkies' perfectly unscientific medical trial

I will be taking steroids for my next pregnancy, i have had 5 miscarraiges in total. I was prescribed the steroids because i have thyroid antibodies, have you had your antibodies tested as you thyroid is slightly high. Mine was initally 9, discovered that after my 3rd mc, it then went up to 42 and is now back down to 0.3 (in september). It took 8 months to stabilise my thyoid and i take 200mg of thyroxine. I will also be taking progesterone, clexane and high dose folic acid, i have no known clotting disorders either, my consultant is just giving me everything this time

xx
