Alcohol Affecting BBT

Do any of you girls find that alcohol affects your temperatures considerably? It's just the last couple of mornings I have had a temperature spike of 0.5 degrees (c). The night before I had one glass of red wine on the first occasion and 2 two glasses last night only to read this morning that alcohol can affect your bbt. I was obviously quite excited thinking I had ovulated and now I am really worried.

I understand now that it will affect my bbt but do any of you find it can affect it so considerably? Thanks xxx

Yes, definitely. My BBT rises considerably when I've been drinking the night before. It's frustrating, so I tend not to drink around the time I might ovulate so that I don't skew the results.

So even a spike of half a degree (celcius) is normal? Oh that's so upsetting

I hear it can raise your bbt, but its hard to say how much and I don't even know if it varies per person. The other month I had a some wine when I was 6dpo and on 7dpo a huge temp dip, so I wondered just how low it'd have been if I hadn't had the booze.

My temp jumps ALOT if I've had a drink or two the night before. I don't worry about it tho... I just put my thumb over it when drawing my cover line and treat it like an outlier...

No worries girl - enjoy your wine!

Good Morning Coco Well it's morning where I am anyway. Dont worry about the alcohol thing, remember it doesn't change anything except for what you "think". Your body is still doing exactly what it should. ANd I am betting more women get pregnant under the influence of alcohol then women who are not. Where do you live anyway?

Thanks hun that was just what I needed to hear. You're right - and obssessing about it just going to make me feel depressed all the time lol. I have realised today that there is so much info on the internet that you can literally read whatever you want. Most of the time I can find evidence to back up the fact I'm preggers or that I'm infertile depending on whether I'm feeling positive or not lol. So going to try and be a bit more laid back from now on!!

I didn't realise you weren't in the UK hun - are you in the US? I'm in England (Midlands) xxx
