I am 25 years old, I have never missed a period in the 13 years I have had it. I am always on time (mines 1 or 2 days over the years) but I have never completely missed it. I have a 34 day cycle and it is now day 40.
Here are the things I can rule out as to the cause:
Stress: I have been through worse stress in my life which has never effected my period. I have a stress free drama free lifestyle and have had one for the past year.
I do not have a cyst, I went to the doctors to get checked yesterday morning just to make sure. I am in perfect health.
I have not been excersizing.
I have not gained any weight not even on a small scale.
Now that that is out of the way I will explain what is currently going on. I POAS around the 22nd of this month came up negative. I went to the doctors to see what could be the issue, my doctor told me that I could be testing too early since some woman produce different levels of HCG at different times. He said it is possible that I am pregnant and to wait untill Feb 1st to take another test. With that in mind he did do a pelvic exam and said my cervix was high, closed, and soft. He also said my uterus and ovaries were in good health so I know it cant be anything relating to them. One thing he did notice was that I had a UTI, very low amount of white blood cells meaning it would have just now started. I did not even have any symptoms of a UTI. They only put me on 5 days worth of antibiotics so that alone shows it was not a very big UTI at all. He cought it in its very early stages.
Anyway, I have been having this CM its a lot more than normal, not as much when I O, but more than when I am not O'ing or on my AF. It is sticky like, clear to a milky color sometimes but mostly clear. It only has a tiny hue of white in it. It does not smell and it is not a yeast infection or infection of any kind. I had him do a swab just to make sure and there is nothing wrong with me down there.
When I tested my cervix normally it is within easy reach, It is also normally open even a little bit during my whole month. There is barely any time that is ever closed actually I do not think I have ever felt it closed. Anyway recently the past week or so it has been very high up there, closed completely, and very soft to the touch almost like if you were to touch a lip. I know I am not going to get my period now, and I know I have completely missed it. This is the first time in my whole life while having my period that this has ever happened.
I would like to note that me and my bf have been TTC for about 4 months now. We had sex around my O day which was January 4th - January 9th.
Ever since I found out I could be pregnant I have been monitoring my temps. Normally before all of this started I would wake up in the morning and my temp would be between 97.6-97.8. Recently within the past few days my temp has been a steady 98.6-98.7. I have been temping at 5am in the morning when I wake up, and 7pm at night just before I eat dinner. It has not changed and has stayed elevated.
I have also noticed some mild cramping and back aches for the past week and a half. They are no where near what I get on my period, they are very mild and almost not noticeable. They go on and off and never stay for longer than 10 minutes.
I have noticed a little bloating, and just recently I have been getting a little sick to my stomach just after I eat something. I am laying down after I eat for a little just so that my stomach can settle and I do not upset it more. It is not the medication making me feel this way, It would happen even when I was not taking anything. I ALWAYS eat a full meal before i take any medication. So it rules out the antibiotics.
I have also noticed that normally before my period is due at least a week before I would get very sore boobies. This month however my boobies are completely normal. My bf thinks they got a bit bigger but honestly I think it is just wishful thinking on his part LOL.
Anyway, what I would like to know since my doctor told me that it could be I am not producing a high amount of HCG at this point to detect pregnancy via POAS. I have not found anywhere that is willing to take a blood test with my insurance so that is out of the question too.
What I would like to know is, is there a chance I could be pregnant? Please keep in mind I KNOW MY BODY. I know what I go through on a cycle to cycle basis, and I KNOW this is not normal for me nore is a fluke or a chance missed period. Please keep that in mind when responding to me.
You could be, but we can't actually tell you. Your doctor gave you the best advice. Wait until the 1st and take another test.
You may have ovulated late so your period is late, a lot of things can put off your period. Even if you don't think it's so.
Doing your temp is irrelevant as you don't know your base temp, and all your symptoms could be explained by pregnancy or something else.
I did not ovulate late. I ovulated on January 9th, I keep track of my CM and I know what the CM feels like when I O, It is very different from any other time of the month. If I am not pregnant, what els could it possibly be? I got tested for everything that I could find as to a cause. I think if it is not pregnancy that I am missing something. I have never had a late period, so I know for a fact I O on time every month.
What do you think it could be if not a missed period?
Oh and I do know what my base temp is, I already stated that in my post. It is 97.6-97.8 early morning, and 98.6 at night. I also know that I do not O late EVER, I have been keeping track for quite some time now. I have NEVER had a missed period it is already on day 40. I am not getting my period anytime soon, in fact im not getting it at all this month. Just wanted to make sure you understand that I am not just taking a shot in the dark here. I also do not expect anyone to give me a straight answer. I was just looking for someone to tell me if its possible. Not if its definite. Thanks for the advice tho I guess.
No, you need your temps from the beginning of your cycle to accurately tell you wether it is pregnancy or not. Without them you won't be to know what the temps you're getting now mean and how they compared to before you O'd.
It could be stress (I know you say it's not), but different types of stress do different types of things to the body. It could be medication you're taking. Or it could be your cycle has changed (which does happen). It could be a lot of things. Including pregnancy, but you'll need to give it some time and take another pregnancy test, your doctor will more than likely give you a blood test if the next test is negative to see what's going on.
But you cannot be diagnosed over a computer screen, you could be pregnant, but you might not be at the same time.
That is my temp from the beginning of my cycle. As I said before its 97.6-97.8. The temp now is constant 98.6-98.7 that is what I am pointing out. I have taken my temp from the beginning whenever I reference anything around the 97 degree range that is what im talking about.
No it cant be stress, I have no stress and I have been through worse in my life. I feel like people only tell me stress bec they have nothing els to pin it on. In fact I am stress free right now. I know its hard to believe but you have to trust me I know myself and I know my body.
