I'm back :( after ectopic... want to TTC

hey ladies

Im back!! Didn't think I would be in a million years....

Got my BFP in Mid december, some of you may remember i was querying how I could get a BFP SOOOOOO early (like 4dpo-ish) and I was worried in the back of my mind it might have implanted early somewhere it shouldnt have, but as i was asymptomatic i wasnt too concerened.

fast forward a few weeks and had to have emergency laparoscopy and removal of my right fallopian tube along with my ectopic pregnancy last saturday at 7 weeks gestation

was very sad times never thought it would happen to us, but it has... I feel over it physically, and emotionally i just feel sad that im not pregnant anymore and all our talking and planning for the future has just stopped and that hurts

I do really want to TTC again as soon as I can really, I've had conflicting advice, 1st doctor said no medical reason to not try straight away (just makes docs nervous as they have nothing to date the pregnancy from), 2nd doctor said wait 3 months/cycles, nurse said wait at least 1 cycle....

has anyone else had any experience in TTC soon after ectopic?

Hi there. So sorry for your loss and you're very welcome back here, although i know you'd really rather not. My SIL had a very similar experience to you and she now has a very happy and healthy 20 month old and he really was the sunshine at the end of her cloud. I think if i was you i'd probably wait til after 1 cycle, couldn't wait any longer but i'd like to know things were settling down again.

Good luck xx

Hi, I am so sorry to hear about your ectopic, I too suffered from an ectopic in September, I was 8 weeks and lost my right tube. I was told by my Doc that we could start ttc straight away if we felt ready, you would get a scan pretty much straight away so they can date the pregnancy that way and chances of actually falling on the first cycle is slim anyway. There is a thread for one tubers that is really good, the girls on there are supportive and give loads of advice.I can put a link up for you if you want?

I too just went through an ectopic in December. Today I got AF for the first time since the whole thing so this will be our first cycle back to ttc! My doctor said I could try as soon as I got my first period.

I am so sorry you had to go through this! It is horrible!

Hoping you get a correctly placed bean very soon!

thanks for your replies ladies.......

Munchkin30 - yeh i think its best to wait the one cycle at least..... just feels like a big step going back to preventing after TTC before!

Carmella88 - yes hun that'd be great if you put a link up for me! would be great to talk to other one-tubers!

schultzie18 - yes hoping for a sticky one soon!!! if you dont mind me asking, how many days was your AF after your ectopic? the doc said it might go back to your normal cycle but i cant see how?!

HayleyJJ- id love a buddie!! however, i dont know when im gonna ovulate so dont know what CD i am??

is my ectopic ending considered CD1?

After I was treated for my ectopic it was 29 days and af showed up. I normally have a 28 day cycle so basically it went back to normal.

I had an ectopic also lost my right fallopian tube as it actually ruptured because the ectopic went undetected , After my ectopic i concieved again very quickly but sadly when on to have 2 mmc ....after than I fell pregnant with my beautiful daughter who is now 3. I would allow your body and mind some time to heal and wish you all the best on your ttc journey xx
