Semen Analysis Costs and ?'s Please Help

Hi ladies, so Im at my witts end with ttcing...af just started and we know thats the hardest week ...so long story short starting cycle #11 not entirely sure if we are even going to continue ttcing at this point. But I would love some help about SA, the next step would be to have DH checked out. He doesnt have insurance and we live in Colorado, if any of you have gone through it and know prices it would be greatly appreciated. Also this might be a dumb question but who do we call, where do we go...do regular doctors do SA's or do I have to find a specialist? Thank you for reading

Hey girl.... well I am also from Colorado (Westminster area, north of Denver). My DH just had an SA done and he didn't use his insurance because our specialist did it for $110 "if you don't have insurance". Since his insurance wouldn't help pay for it anyways we just didn't use it. However I am not sure if you have to go to a specialist or not to get an SA. I can tell you who I go to if you want, our specilist has locations in Lafayette, Denver and Littleton. It turned out that we went threw the specialist because we scheduled the apt under my name, and my insurance helped pay because I have hormonal issues, so they called it an endocrinologist apt even though my doc is both an endocrinologist and fertility specialist. Let me know if you want more info. GL!

most offices give a great discount for out of the pocket, and all up front payment. I would say anywhere from 100-300.00. I had to be refered. I was doing test and blood work at my gyn. and she refered me to a SA specialist, and a specialist for my HSG testing.

Thanks ladies, Goldstns- i would love to know the guys name..i figure it doesnt hurt to call around and ask to make an appt, then if they all tell us you have to be refered by a doctor we'll try going down that path..my plan is to pay for it with credit card and then make payments on the card, since we never use the card..also have any of you guys had your DH take fertilaid or fetility blend, trying to pick one..

Hey angelface- We go to Dr. Bush. Their clinic is called Conceptions.
Their website: http://www.conceptionsrepro.com/default.aspx
website has phone numbers because I don't know which clinic is closest to you.

My DH has 0% Morph, but great numbers and motility. So Dr. Bush put him on this blend of vitamins (I think this blend is for any male infertility issues, not just morph)
"MALE SUPPLEMENTATION IN AN EFFORT TO IMPROVE
SPERM PARAMETERS

Option A
Take all of the following supplements daily as listed. They can be purchased from your local pharmacy or Vitamin Cottage or GNC.

• L carnitine 2 grams/day, taken as 1000mg twice a day
• Acetyl L carnitine 1 gram/day, taken as 500 mg twice a day
• CoEnzyme Q10 200 mg/day taken as 100 mg twice a day
• Vitamin E 400 IU/day, taken once a day
• Selenium 200 mcg/day, taken once a day

M. Bush, M.D. (01/27/2006)
*** For results of this therapeutic regimen, please see data on website for PROXEED (Google in PROXEED).

OR

Option B
Take Proxeed powder, mixed in water twice a day.

Purchase online through their website www.proxeed.com or by doing a google search for Proxeed.

Continue on vitamin regime until you conceive or until instructed by your doctor to discontinue. "
