Seeing my GP

Hi,

I am seeing my GP on Monday morning as my husband and I have been TTC for over a year now, admittedly our efforts have been up and down and some months we have made a huge effort, others we haven't.

It will be our first trip to the Dr's about this issue and I was just wondering what to expect? What type of questions might she ask? I just don't want to be caught out wth any surprises. I am a bit anxious about going! And, I want her to take us seriously!

Thanks,

Leanne x

I'm sorry I can't answer your question but I am curious to know too. I think I am out this cycle and I swore if AF arrived that DH and I would go to our GP I would like to know what to expect too.

Let us know how you get on xx

Hmmm, I am intrigued to know what she has to say, will deffo pop back to this thread and let you know.

Think I have been TTC all wrong, thanks to an earlier thread (debgreasby!) I learned that first day of AF is the first day of full bleed whereas I thought it was when I first started spotting, so think I have wasted the past year of TTC as got cycles all wrong!!! Also, bought some ovulation tests so will start using them next time.

Not going to tell GP all of this though as she may send us away and tell us to try properly for a year... And I don't want to wait another year!

Will update this thread later on Monday.

Thanks guys x

Hello!

Well, I saw my GP this morning, she was lovely, I talked to her about my cycle and she advised that the irregularity of my AF could be linked to me not ovulating and so she is going to do some blood tests. I go back on the 14th Oct. She said I may either have irregular ovulation or no ovulation. Or, I could in fact ovulate quite fine, I just need to keep an eye on it as my next step. I am starting with the ovulation tests today to see how I get on with them. I tested at lunch time today and I was negative for ovulation but I am early to start anyway, I just wanted to start trying them out and familiarise myself with them.

GP has also requested a testing kit be sent out to my husband so he can have his little swimmers examined (that's if they swim at all - I hope they do!!!).

We go back on the 16th Oct for all results so an eager wait until then. Just one little visit has lifted my spirits, and she pointed out that I have conceived once and she is certain I will again, I just need to stop worrying! (Easier said than done).

Using the ovulation tests will be interesting also, to see if they show any positives. Not used them before now so keeping fingers crossed they will give some answers along with GP results.

Leanne x

Fingers crossed for you!! be persistant with the ov test sticks, they can be negative for ages but mine worked today!!!! I bought a clear blue fertility monitor, they are way better. Youll find some on ebay for ok price and sticks cheaper on amazon. they tell you about 5 fertile days!! I got BFP on my first month using it....sadly i had a MC but im back to using it this month.
