I know I am coming in late after your decision is already made, so I won't throw in my 2 cents but I didn't want to read and run. Looks like you had the answer in your head all along you just needed to work through it outloud.

Hi Linn

First off - congrats on your BFP - after all those months, you certainly deserve it. Unfortunately not enough research exists to explain this - I am not sure how pregnant you are, or how early you found out - but I would imagine that after 22 months of trying you are probably okay. Chemical pregnancies are a result of disorders or abnormalities in the embryo, and while its very sad that we have to potentially go through so many I wouldn't worry about it. Chin up, think positively and here's to a happy and healthy nine months.
thanks for your answer, i got so worried this morning i was nearly in tears, but i did a few more tests and feel better now. im only 4 weeks pregnant today, i have been getting faint lines since 9 dpo and had a very good strong BFP on a FRER today, im just so worried cause i waited for so long.... but i will try relax more im just afraid if this is a chemical then i will have to wait again for 2 yrs but ok i will try to think positive i have been feeling nauseous all weekend so got some symptoms.

thanks again ... i shouldnt read to much right now i think.

to all

No, a strong BFP would denote a high level of hCG wouldn't it - sorry never had one - if you're worried, bet along to docs to have your levels checked - this is the best way to check - but I am sure you are fine. All the best to you.

I would be as honest as possible. Its easier for them to treat you that way. I mean you can fib a little but make sure to include all the important parts. I say go for it all the way! It would be silly to wait longer and have it be something that can be easily treated. If you are concerned about maybe not needing it maybe ask them to try less invasive or 'active' treatments at first...it could be that you just need a nudge!

Good luck!

I would say if your pregnancy was a chemical pregnancy then you would have never known if you didn't test early right? correct me if I'm wrong but your period starts on time with a chemical right? so if you were trying for 12months and never tested early you would have never known you had a chemical pregnancy....I don't know...I wouldnt say theres nothing wrong with you because you've "been pregnant" before and if the doctors can do something to help get you a baby quicker than why not go because you could wait out your 12months and get nothing and then be put on a waiting list... I'm sure it couldn't hurt to go and start ruling things out

Nise has the best answer. I beleive it's close enough to truth you won't feel like lying. On the same note it will get you the help you need. You getting help will not effect anyone from not getting help. There is nothing wrong with making sure everything is ok. I hope everything works out perfectly for you!!

Well, that's sort of hard to answer. I can't say whether I was testing early. It was my first cycle after the 2+ year on again, off again bleeding. I wasn't really even thinking much about TTC, because I didn't think I was ovulating. I had no clue when/if I had ovulated. When my period didn't show up in 30 days, I tested . It was a Thursday. I tested again on Monday when still no AF, and . Against my better judgment, I tested Wednesday morning (because I had asked my husband if I was ever going to get a positive test, and he said, "yep, wednesday!") and got a very faint positive. I tested the next morning again, and got the same faint positive. I didn't believe it, so I tested again with SMU... same faint positive. My tests were all 25mIU. I had a doctor's appointment that day and she had me take a urine test, . This was mid-afternoon... much fluid and many bathroom trips later. Not surprised! By the time I got in for bloods, there was nothing to detect and all my tests were again. She explained that it had probably taken long enough to filter into my urine that it was already over and out of my blood. So, I don't know how early I tested or what DPO I was on. It's just guessing, really!

Kate - You always make me smile!

Liz - I'd still like your 2 cents! I still have over 24 hours!
