Baby Registry?

I was just wondering if anyone had or had considered setting up a baby registry?

I know it's ALMOST the same as tempting fate by buying things, but it's basically just making a shopping list for when you do need all the stuff!

I'm building one on Target (American Store) alongside our wedding registry... Seen as we're putting off having our big wedding party for a couple of years now, I figure if we get pregnant, people can have the choice to buy our 'everyday' things or baby things for our wedding prezzies if they want.

i'm waiting with that untill i'm really pregnant, otherwise by the time i am pregnant i'll
have nothing left to do but watch my bump grow lol and i'd LOVE it if i could make that
list with a little bump already present.

i have in mind what i want though, what type of stroller and things like that

I waited til I was 6 months preggo. One, didn't want to do the whole tempt fate thing and Two, they come out with some many new products SO often. Plus it was really fun to go in and use the little scanner with the hubby while checking everything out!

I made a wishlist instead of a registry. It isn't as formal, but still keeps track of what you like at the time!

Which means you don't have to stress the 9 months of picking what you want.
You can always tell your LO that you had him/her planned WAY before they were born. It's very true.

With the Baby gift registry, you really should wait till you already are pregnant.... and then people usually only order from them when you have your baby shower.

I'm a procrastinator so I know if I left it until I was pregnant and everything, it would never get done

Mine's basically a wishlist, I'm pretty much putting EVERYTHING I want on it and then when we get pregnant I'll chop it down and revise it all so I'm happy with it before we hand out the details to family and friends. I've got a wedding website that I'm mid building (STILL! ) and I'll probably just end up putting the details for the wedding and baby registry on there and giving people the URL.

I'm sure Alex's aunt would love to organise a baby shower though, it's not something I'd ever considered until I came to the US.
