My temp is all over the place!

I only started charting yesterday and I think I've screwed it up already

If anyone could advise me I would be ever so grateful.

I started temping yesterday morning at 6.30am and my temp was 35.99.C. This was after an erratic night sleep.

This morning I tested again at 6.30am (after a better night sleep) and got 36.43.C.

This is obviously wrong!

Note: AF is due on Friday if that makes any difference (and she'll deffo arrive because I missed O this month)

You're a worrier! Welcome to my world! LOL

First, you really don't necessarily need to start temping at the end of your cycle. If you're 100% certain that you can't be pregnant and AF is on her way, then you might as well just wait for her to show and start temping then. It'll make a TON more sense that way!

Second, your temps weren't obviously wrong. That's not impossible, especially if one was on a much more erratic night of sleep. It's not the individual temps that mean much... it's the trend throughout your cycle. It took me a while to grasp this concept! I still only have it well enough to repeat it! LOL

Third, you haven't screwed anything up. I wrong temp will never screw up your entire month. So, just relax and take it easy until the shows her ugly face. Go ahead and take your temp each morning, just so that you'll get used to being in the habit. But, outside of that... don't worry so much about each temp. It'll make sense all put together!

to you!

Thank you Megg! I am this forum's #1 worrier for sure! I want to be a mum so badly. I'd rather know sooner than later if I will ever fulfil this dream. As my username suggests I'm at a crossroads in my life. If I can't follow the path to my dream, I don't know what I will do I see each month (read: each week! each day!) as precious. I don't want to make any silly mistakes like I did in my first month (missing O!) I want to pull out all the stops!

oooh why is that? I just recently bought the themometer. That's why I started temping when I did Shall I remove the two temps from my chart? They look dodgy.

I was worried that the (very!) sharp rise in temp would trick Fertility Friend and mess up my chart.

What do you think?

End of the month temps only really make any sense if you can compare them to your coverline. Your coverline is set .1 degree above the highest of your 5 low temps prior to O. That probably sounds confusing, and I'm sorry! LOL But, without the early temps to set the coverline, the late temps don't really mean much of anything.

You don't need to remove the ones you have in though. When you put in any menses more than spotting... Light, Medium, Heavy... It will automatically start you on a new cycle chart. So, just keep going and it'll do that part for you!

Thank you Megg You have pacified me.

Charting seems exciting yet bewildering at the same time. I just took a look at yours and it just looks like a mass of intimidating data that I don't understand It looks like an alien drawing! lol I don't understand it.

I currently have mine on Calendar view which seems more friendly.

How do you find the link to your Calendar in order to post it on the forums?

I started charting in the last week of my cycle so I could get used to it before the new one started. Keep it up and don't worry - it takes AGES before they form into some sort of pattern. Good luck!
