How many dpo will a pregnancy test be positive?

Hi all I'm new to all this and I'm not ttc but I'm learning and think there's a chance I'm pregnant. I just woundered how many dpo will you test positive for example is there a certain time past ovulation or a time where you would hav a positive if you were going too.

Many thanks for answering my questions i'm sorry I can't answer more of yours.

Lynda

Sadly the answer is "it depends" - some people don't have enough hpg for a positive test until a few weeks after a missed period!

Someone else might be able to give you a guideline of when you should GENERALLY be able to tell by, but I don't think there's a hard and fast rule. You might be able to tell early, but if it's a negative that doesn't mean that you're not pregnant. You might not be pregnant, but you might just not have enough pregnancy hormone in your system yet. The only sure negative is when you get your period.

Sorry that's not a definitive answer, but it's a start!

Hiya, I would say about 10 days past ovulation for a possible faint line, but it's best to wait until after AF is due as sometimes the egg can implant later than this.
Good luck xx

Thank you that's given me more of an insight. I thought what had was my period last week I'm not sure if it was implantation bleeding ory actual period? I had a mc a few mths ago so don't know what a normal period is anymore. I've had weird symptoms that's why I thought I could be pregnant I'm prob not though.

i was able to get a at 10 DPO, however, i think 12 DPO is more common for it. Also, if you get an implantation dip, the better question would be: how many days after an implantation dip can you get a ? And i believe that answer would be 2-3 days, though it could take longer depending on how well your urine is saturated with hCG.

P.S. on average, implantation occurs at 7-10 DPO, however it can happen earlier and later than that. I implanted at 6 DPO [I think thats why i was able to get a positive so early]. Not everyone who is pregnant gets an implantation dip in their BBT , and not everyone who has an "implantation dip" is actually preggo.

Hi Guppy, I was wondering if you could be so kind to look at my chart. It is the first month I have charted anything and I had two dips after O and was wondering if either one of them could possibly be a ID or if they have to be larger dips. Not sure what is "normal" in LP.

Thank you so much!!!

Titi- well, its my opinion that your first dip at 3DPO would be the "fallback temperature". THis basically means that one of the hormones [forget which one, sorry ] produced slighly less. The next day though, you should see a temp rise [as you did].
Many woman get this "fallback dip" anywhere from 1-3DPO. Most will get [pregnant or not] but not everyone will. For an example you can check out my chart at 3DPO.

Now, this dip at 5DPO, isnt a very big one, BUT there is no "rule" on how big the dip has to be. And, for you, Id say that its a high possibility that it could be ID simply because your temps after that rise stayed up! If you are preggo, this would be your implantation dip [i think, unless you get another one bigger, in which case the other would be]. Based on how your temps rised after 5DPO- i think you stand a great chance. Just keep in mind that some woman get an "implantation dip" only to discover AF that cycle [which was probably a "fallback temp" due to hormones, in the case of the woman not being preggo].

! I think your chart is looking great!

Guppy-thanks so much for looking! I don't know what they are supposed to look like since I have never had one before! That's great info. about the fallback dip-I hadn't learned that yet.
I am very sorry to hear about your m/c. I am praying that you get a sticky bean and soon!
