Luteal phase

Hi all

Just wanted to know if your luteal phase stays the same even though your cycle varies in length? I usually have 28 days cycles with ovulation taking place on the 14th day but this time i'm cd36 and only 6dpo so far! so bit of a long one this time.. i've had some cramps today and a little brown spotting sometimes i feel like af is coming but the spotting has stopped now and the cramps have eased off. i just feel constantly hungry but have a complete loss of appetite so can't eat much. just wondered if anyone else had this too @ 6dpo? could it be implantation spotting? if af was around the corner i probably would've guzzled through half a sweet shop by now lol!

You are correct. Your luteal phase should not vary more than a day or so from cycle to cycle. Many things like stress and illness can delay ovulation, but nothing delays the luteal phase except pregnancy.

Hope that helps!

In most women the luteal phase does not change from one cycle to another (there are of course exceptions). It is usually the ovulation day that changes, which then affects the length of the cycle.
