Huge BBT drop at 6-7 DPO?

Hi ladies.

This morning, at 6 DPO, my BBT dropped a whole degree. This cycle has had the exact same patterns as my last cycle, which my BBT dropped on 6-7 DPO as well, so I was kind of expecting it. Although the drop this time is much more and below coverline. What goes on around 6 or 7 DPO, hormone-wise, that would cause such a drop?

My chart is in my signature and you should be able to see both charts. Thank you!

Implantation can cause a dip in temps (I had a two day dip with my last BFP) but not sure if itís a bit early for that? Could just be an anomaly otherwise.
As with all these things, it could just be a matter of waiting and seeing!

Well, I did some research and am calling the 6 DPO dip a corpeus luteum dip since I seem to get it normally. Just an estrogen surge.

But now I have another dip at 8 DPO, so FX it means at least something...

I think you have two oestrogen surges during your lp, so any dips could be this, or could be implantation

Thanks happycupcake.

I get one at 2 DPO and 6 DPO based on this chart and the last one. I'm just now concerned about the two day drop on 8 DPO and today. Mine dips for three days and on the third day, my period comes. I can't be having a 9 day luteal phase... my last ones were 12 and 13.

Despite popular opinion that implantation dips should only last one day, I have seen LOADS of pregnancy charts with dips lasting two days or more. Try not to worry about it, I'm sure your temp will increase. Are you temping orally? This could add some odd temps if so, mine weren't stable orally

I am temping orally. I also do sleep with my mouth open. I'm definitely doing vaginally next cycle. I'm at another low temp today but higher than yesterday. Not sure what to make of it.

I would say this is your problem, taking your temp after having your mouth open will be unreliable and very up and down so what you're seeing may not really reflect your true temperatures

Can you use a regular BBT thermometer vaginally? Started AF this morning so going to try temping that way instead.

Yeah it's fine to use it vaginally, mine is just a regular BBT thermometer, it has a slightly flexible end to it but other than that it's normal. I don't think a non flexible end would matter
