why do you ovulate early?

well i was meant to ovulate today according to a 14 day L phase... but tues i got a faint test thinking i was starting but it vanished by yesterday so looks like i ovulated around 3-4 days early.

is the 14days before your period begins an average time to ovulate? not what it should be so to speak.

i'm now on my 2 week wait for the first time.

I think 14 days is a rough guide based on normal cycles. My cycle is usually 27 days, and I usually ovulate CD10 or CD11, so my luteal phase is 16 or 17 days. I don't think early ovulation is too much to worry about. I think its worse if you ovulate later on in your cycle.

Good luck with your tww. You'll really enjoy it - yeah right!!!

xx

Maz is right, 14 days is just a guideline. In reality women can ovulate at any time during their cycle. My periods were 24 days long and I'm almost positive (didn't do OPKs) that I ovulated around day 10 of my cycle.

Yes I agree it is worse if you OV very late in your cycle. Did you BD before you OV'd even though you weren't expecting it? If you did you will be fine!

all opks are rough guides to what your body is up to...some people are so good at it they know the exact moment the egg pops. most of us, on the other hand, are not that good it is not a bad thing to ov early....often, strangly enough, it is because someone around us has theirs a bit earlier than us and we adjust to their cycle...and it can be later if we are under stress, not good like the ladies have said. but oving a bit early is not a bad thing...i did myself this month. nothing to worry about. all you DO have to worry about it to now use your time wisely because once you ov, you must bd bd bd!! once you ov, the egg is traveling down the ft, and thats where the egg can be fertilized, so the only problem with early ov is that you might msis it!!
goodluck hunny!
