Military Wives/Fiances/Girlfriends

Ok so I know there was once a thread for this but I couldn't find it and decided to start a new one. I am interested in seeing how many more military significant others there are here. TTC in the military is a very difficult task especially when it seems like our men are always training etc during "O" and also not knowing if or when they will be deploying. With that said, there is never an ideal time to have children in a military family, so we make it work, knowing that daddy is going to miss some very important milestones no matter what. SO, here's to us! Tell us a little about yourself?

Name?

Branch?

Relationship?

How long TTC?

Anything else you want to add?

Anything else you want to add? Hubby deploys next month and this is our last shot at TTC for a year, hoping to catch the egg before then.

Oh and I'll add one more, where are you stationed? We are at Fort Carson, Colorado

Hi c-demers.

My husband is a Marine. We've been married for three years, but only ttcing #1 for 5 months now because he has been in far off lands for most of our marriage (Camp Pendleton is far away when you live in Vermont ). He came back from Iraq last winter and we've settled into a place in New Hampshire for the meantime. He's in school now, so if he doesn't get deployed in the meantime, we'll be here for at least another two years and change.

Having children is something that we spent a lot of time talking about. We both really want kids, but it's a hard decision to make, knowing that I am going to be raising them by myself for good chunks of time, and that he will inevitably miss some (a lot of) very important moments.

But in the meantime, I don't face the problems that many of you ladies are facing right now, trying to catch an egg before he leaves. He's not scheduled to deploy in the foreseeable future, so that pressure is off. I can't imagine going through this whole process knowing that we only had two or three shots at it before he leaves. I admire you ladies so much who are under that kind of pressure as well.

I'm glad you restarted this thread. It's something I think about often when I see other people reference military OHs in their threads, but I've never posted about. It's rough out there for us, and we have to stick together. We're just one extended family - it really does take a village. And when an OH leaves to serve, we can depend on each other. (which is so great, btw!!!)

Hi girls, must be so hard for you having them away for long periods.
My OH is in the Paras (TA section) so the most he goes away is for weekends.

Good luck with your TTC xx

Relationship? Proud Wife!

How long TTC? starting on month 3

Stationed at?? We are at Fort Bragg in NC. In June we are leaving for Mannheim, Germany. I really feel like once we are settled there, is when we will conceive.

Anything else you want to add? Hubby just left yesterday for 25 days. He is attending BNONC in Maryland. So we are OUT for March!! Also, this a second marriage for us both. This will be our first baby together (I have 3, he has none). And I just want to say that I am soooooo proud of my soldier. He is an amazing husband, daddy to my babies, a super NCO, and just an all around great guy.

And yes, TTC military style is like another form of infertility!!! Training this month, school next month, and so forth....

Thanks Bella!! We are soooooo excited!! I have googled so many pictures of the area and I get so excited each time!! My husband has been there before but my babies and I have barely been out of Georgia!! NC is the first state they have lived in outside of our home state of Georgia. So this will be a HUGE culture shock for us but I am ready!! This is def one of the huge benefits of being a military family!

Welcome ladies! Glad to know there are a few women here who know the stresses of TTC with a military man, especially when it seems like you are not very high on the military's priority list!

Love3- you sound a lot like me! I have 2 kiddos but this would be hubby's first. I have a lot of "friends" that say "at least you already have kids, it shouldn't be that hard for you to wait." They just don't understand. As much as we both love my kids, we desperately want to have our own, one that he wouldn't have to share custody and love with another man. Nobody seems to understand. I'm just so ready to give him a baby again, we were so excited the last 2 times I found out I was pregnant before I m/c'd
