Hi folks.. My wife and I have been TTC for 5 months but as she had PCOS she has only ovulated twice.. one of which was this month!
Anyway... 12 days ago she got a + LH and we went like bunnies... On Saturday we for a bit of fun(I dont know if this is the cause or of any relevance), but yesterday (Sunday) when she wiped she had a few spots of blood, but nothing in her underwear.. she has worn a pad for 2 days and nothing has been on the pad but blood is there when she wipes and is either a pinky colour (not "red") or a browny colour. Could this be implementation bleeding??
I should also add.. that I am being extra paranoid about this as normally you'd just say wait a week or two and do a preg test and see if it is implementation bleeding or a light period(which I dont think it can be as nothing is on the pad), but between her first positiive ovulation test and this one, she hasn't ovulated and her cycles have been 40, 42 and 49 days...
As a result we are planning on using clomid from next cycle and you need to start this 5 days after your period starts but you cannot use it if you are preganant and obviously we are unsure when to start counting as we don't know if this is from the sex, period or implementation bleeding!!!!!!!!! Waiting another cycle in case could be another 40++ days!!
I have very long cycles too. And possibly PCOS (waiting for proper diagnosis)
Anyway, I don't know a great deal about Clomid, I may also get it next cycle. But if she has to take it from CD5 you will obviously need to count from CD1 - which will be the first day of her period, ignore spotting, it needs to be full flow proper blood. If this arrives it's fairly safe to say she's not pregnant, so it will be ok to take the clomid.
If I were you, I'd go to the doctors, and get your Clomid prescription now. If she turns out to be pregnant - fantastic! But if not, and her period arrives, you will have the prescription ready on CD1 to go and grab the Clomid and she can start taking them whenever doc advises.
That way you don't have to wait for another cycle to come along, as you've said that could take forever!!
Does that make sense?! It does to me but I'm not sure I've explained it brilliantly!
