oooh! i didn't know that! maybe glass thermometer is the way to go then! i could take my temp without a beep waking him up and then i can just take the thermometer out of the room with me when i get up to check the temp.

and in answer to someone's question earlier - i don't use an alarm, as such. i use my mobile phone and have the alert set to "vibrate" and i keep it between my pillows. lol. i can feel and hear the vibrating through my pillow, but OH can't

how he'll cope if/when we do have a baby, i have no idea!! i'm not allowed a clock in the bedroom because the ticking keeps him awake!! lol.

I have a glass thermometer but it doesn't take temperature to 2 decimal places. It also have the disadvantage of not knowing whether it has been in place long enough to take the correct temperature.

I use a digital BBT thermometer. It does beep but it's not that loud (DH is also a light sleeper). So I just take my temperature roughly the same time every morning and as soon as it beeps, I put it back under the pillow and read the result when I get up. DH has no complaint so far! Maybe just get 1 and give it a try?

Hope that helps.

I temp vaginally and dh doesn't even hear the beeping. It is well muffled by the blankets and as soon as it beeps I turn it off. Usually it might only beep once or twice. The beeps are quite soft, softer than my ordinary fever thermometer. Then I put it on my bedside and go back to sleep and check it when I get back up

I don't think any of them don't beep.. but I have a CVS one that's pretty quiet that I doubt would wake him up. Just tell him that if he wants a baby he's just going to have to get over it.. plus a baby would be much much louder xx

Another thing is you could do it vaginally. If it's under the sheets you can BARELY hear it. Whenever I temped vaginally I could barely hear it, sometimes I never did. xx
