Not necessarily. Most of the time women have longer cycles when they ovulate later. Luteal phases tend to stay pretty constant. So, a women who ovulated on CD24 with a 10 day LP would have a 33 day cycle, while a woman who had a 10 day LP who ovulated on CD15 would have a 24 day cycle. Both luteal phases are the same length, but one cycle is longer.

Does that make sense? Math isn't my strong suit.

I agree with this!
My LP is always 14-16 days
some months I had a 32 day cycle and some 39 days, but my LP remained the same.

So if you ovulate later in your cycle, you should expect your AF to arrive later because you LP remains the same

I agree with the others, I have a 12-14 day LP, regardless of the length of the cycle, I'm irregular, and my cycles range from 28-48 days.

My cycles are also long (45-60 days), and my LP has always been 15 days...

Hiya, I'm new on this forum site and just hoping to find and share information with the ladies on here...
I'm also new to charting, and the different phases in my cycle. I've come off BCP May 2011, and my cycles have been all over the place, 45 days, 60days, 31 days, 130 days and currently on CD48 no AF no BFP.

I'm just wondering what the Leutal Phase is ( i just know it comes after ovulation till AF). how do you know the actual length on long cycles and/or irregular cycles. sorry if i sound ignorant ...thanks very much.
