Father's Day indeed!!! What are the chances?

So. I posted here last year when I became pregnant. The baby was ectopic and I had to have emergency surgery in August. I was sooo disappointed that our beautiful and perfect baby would not get to be born.

My boyfriend and I have not really being *trying* but we have discussed the idea of having kids soon and our only method of contraception has been withdrawal. We're both 36 - but, I have 2 kids and get pregnant if a man so much as breathes on me, which is what happened last year.

My cycle is 26 days....LMP was June 10. We had a few glasses of a wonderful red wine on Saturday, got a little tipsy, and felt affectionate. We had a total and complete "failure" in our very ill-timed attempt at withdrawal....

I wondered if I could actually have a chance of conceiving, so, I took an OPK several hours later. Came out so close to postive, it may even have to be called positive. I took another on Sunday pm (about 12 hours after) and it was blaring. Took another OPK Sunday night and it had faded. I also had mittelschmerz for a few hours around my blaring positive OPK! (For me its an intermittant 'poke-poke-poke' type pain right over the ovary) I was glad to note the mittleschmerz was on the *left* (healthy) ovary, not the right, where I had the ectopic and subsequent surgery.

I guess I'm wondering, based on the OPK & mittelschmerz - when ovulation occurred? any way to tell? If I ovulated as late as tomorrow (Tuesday), wouldn't all the sperm be dead?? (3 days elapsed)?

Thank you so much.

I do wonder though....does anyone know roughly how long it takes to ovulate after mittelschmerz/pos OPK? can it happen quickly? (like, within a couple hours)? I was surprised at how much the OPK has faded!

I have mittelschmerz as well. From what I've read online. The pain you feel is from the follicle rupturing. When it ruptures, the egg is released. So in my opinion whenever you felt the pain is the time the egg was released. Good luck!

It's usually 12-24 hours after a positive opk. x

We bd'd sat, sun and mon but that was it. Must have caught the egg as got my bfp a couple of weeks later.

GL and fx you get you soon.

Gosh! Well I sure hope that BD on Saturday was enough!! He's off on a course this week, so I won't even see him until Wednesday...which will be too late...

I got the mittelschmerz at the exact same time as the "extra postive OPK". But, my OPK was already positive 10 hours before it darkened to super dark......I guess it's quite possible the pain actually was the follicular rupture.

I am starting to wonder how exactly I am going to wait until July 6th to do a hpt.....! I imagine I'll be at the Dollar store long before then testing and squinting.....

I'll be hangin' round here obsessing til then.

ALSO TODAY: I got breast tenderness right after dinner. is pretty hefty and hanging around...does breast pain mean I am just about to ovulate, or that I just did???

Thanks for kind wishes....

My breasts always get sore after ovulation. Except this month. They were sore the day before. I've noticed something strange with that too. Up until we started TTC my breasts would get sore only a few days before AF showed. The very month we started TTC, my breasts became sore the day after ovulation & stayed sore for the whole 2ww. Go figure!!
